Perfect! Nice, heavy chunk of metal, should serve as a good heat sink. Comes with thermal pads for heat transfer, as well as a short but perfect usb cable. Transfer speeds are significantly better than the internal drive (!), so, if the app permits, virtually everything can reside in the external drive. Fits perfectly under a Mac mini, looks like it belongs there. As I said, perfect. Read more
Works great and fast data transfers. Had just an external enclosure with fan and was noisy so replaced with this and same transfer speed and quiet. Would recommend this to anyone. Read more
Works but runs hot. Got this for my M4 Pro Mac mini. It fits well underneath it and there is easy access to the power button. I also get pretty good speeds from my NVME drive. Downsides: The drive bay runs hot ALL the time. Thankfully the Mac mini doesn’t run hot, but the heat this gives off will decrease your Mac performance if you run it at 100% load all the time. Also, is does not hold the Mac in secure way. The top is very smooth, so the Mac will move around in the process of plugging a cord in or trying to reach the button. It should have had a small indent in the top to keep the Mac from sliding around. Read more
I bought this for the Thunderbolt speeds and easy M2 SSD expansion for my M4 Mac Mini. Imagine my surprise when I was getting only 1028MB/s read speeds. This same SSD was getting 3500 in my Thunderbolt external enclosure. Easiest thing to check was try a different Thunderbolt cable. Boom. Instant 3500 speeds again. It does seem to keep the SSD nice and cool. It's a heavy dock so there's plenty of metal for heat dissipation. So in conclusion, it's a nice enough dock, just be prepared to factor in the cost of an actual Thunderbolt cable if you want Thunderbolt speeds. Edit: I think the cable that came with mine is bad. I used the cable on an external drive that doesn't need thunderbolt speed and that drive frequently disconnects. A different cable and no problems there either. This cable is hitting the trash. Good price point for the performance and stabililty. I have no issues with the unit registering Thunderbolt 4. The only issue I encountered was stability issues where new but poor TB cables causing the unit to fail enumeration or lose connectivity. I couple it with a quiet USB fan as a precaution. Parece ser un buen producto, funciona muy bien y en el poco tiempo de uso no he tenido ningún problema de calentamiento con una memoria SN7100 NVMe de 4 TB - Gen4 PCIe, M.2 2280. Read more
Works as advertised. Very fast transfer speed, build quality is awesome. Great value for the money. Read more
I’m slapping a solid 4 out of 5 stars on this bad boy. Not because it wronged me personally—but because, try as I might, the fastest speeds I could squeeze out were 3200x3400. Still zippy enough to make my coffee machine jealous. I threw a couple of SSDs at it, even a fancy PCIe 5 one, just to flex. But let's be real—I’m not out here burning cash like a tech YouTuber with sponsors. Plus, it’s not the SSD’s fault. The controller is the traffic cop here, and it’s not letting anyone speed. For my needs? It’s basically a rocket ship. The only thing missing is another USB-A port. Just one more! I’ve got more gadgets than a Bond villain and not enough places to plug them in. On the bright side, it doesn’t get too hot. Lukewarm, like a cup of tea you forgot about—but in a good way. Also, it looks slick enough to make your desk look 12% more productive. Would recommend—with minor grumbles and dramatic sighs and with the added discount it was a steal Read more
