This dash cam is probably the coolest gadget I’ve bought for my vehicle. Installation is easy, picture is clear and features are all you need in one slick good looking item. I was very surprised how easy it was to install but the best part was how easy bit was to pair. Supports android and CarPlay format and does everything an infotainment system does. Display is clear and touchscreen is very responsive with all your need one touch away everything from messages, navigation, music and clear picture for rear camera. That’s not even to mention all the dash cam features available time able to snap a picture and the price was amazing for this item. I can not see out the back of my truck dark tinted window and a bed cap made the mirror useless. It is a nice old truck and I didn't really want to to start taking the dash apart to swap stereos either. This thing is almost the perfect solution. With gps integration and a modified oem style bracket. I'm still amazed at the benefits vs the cost. I bought and modified a bracket meant for another brand of mirror display. Did not hookup backup wire and keep mirror on screen always. I do wish the distance perception was closer to a real mirror, but like how you can swipe to see lower while backing into a spot. I use waze and streaming music, both connect fairly quickly and waze seems to anticipate my daily routine... drive to work in the morning, home at the end of my shift. Saved me from being late once, I was going to stop on the way to work, but it showed I barely had time to get there due to an accident. I skipped the stop and was not late. The REAL negative is that if I left this plugged in to a hot outlet even with the display dark, it runs my battery dead if I don't drive for a few days or longer.... VERY dead. I used an add a fuse tap and wired a igntion switched outlet under the dash which has the benefit of hiding the wires too... It just takes a bit longer to connect and some static from the fm radio connection while waiting. Read more

My 2012 Civic did not have an infotainment system or backup camera. This smart mirror with front and rear dash cams solved so many problems for me! First off, it mounted directly to our existing rear view mirror perfectly. Not only is it easy to use and the picture clear and bright, but it actually helps me see details using the cameras that the human eye can't see, especially at night. You can easily access the recorded dash cam footage through the mirror itself or remove the SD card and download it to your computer, plus custom set the duration of the videos. The Android Auto function works really well and has no problem syncing with my Galaxy S21 Ultra. The backup camera wasn't hard to install using the included instructions. The touch screen functions quickly and is very sharp and clear. But the best part is you have the display right there where you can see it and don't have to fumble around on the dashboard to use a screen that's lower, taking your eyes off the road. You can even set it to split the screen into sections. On the left I have my music or podcast apps, in the center is Google Maps or can be Waze if you prefer, and to the right is the backup camera, but you can full-screen the front or rear camera view if you like. The backup camera goes full-screen automatically when in reverse if you wire it direct with the red wire included to the backup bulb's positive wire, which is easier than it sounds, and you get guide lines for parking. There are so many customization settings for this device! I bought a longer extension cable than the AUX cable supplied to wire the device's AUX output directly to the car's sound system AUX input for the best sound, just tucked the cord away in the A-pillar seam with the power cord. The power cord plugs into your 12V socket and has a USB A port for charging so you don't lose the ability to charge your phone. In our area in a large city there were stations close together on the FM the dial that sometimes bled over wherever you used the FM output channel to connect to your audio system, but using either method the sound from my Pandora and other music is terrific. After going without a dash cam and infotainment screen for over a decade in the Civic, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would definitely buy it again! Read more

Edit Worked really well at first. Now it freezes and loses communication with phone gps, causing me to miss turns, exits,etc. Bought this one to replace a dash-mounted unit that I didn’t much like. Mounting on the existing rear view is much cleaner. The old one looked clunky and was in the way. Having the map and rear camera on split screen is the main reason for going this route. Works great. Rear camera fish eye is a little extreme, but I can see my hitch ball now which is an improvement. I have to use my side mirrors for seeing any distance, but I’m ok with that. May be adjustable? I’ll have to research. Easy to install and connect to my iphone. I already had a wire ran to the rear camera, so just had to make a few adjustments. Still need to play with it a little to know more.
