Got it yesterday set it up connect to the live view through the app and it dies. If I go check live later in the day I get a dead screen. Did it all over again deleted it from the app then connected it I go view it's fine then it just dies. Plenty of battery I just can't view the live view it just spins a black screen. Beware! Fire alarm is small and does not even cover the outlet box that holds the wires, and it does not have wide angle as described… it views maybe a five foot area straight below the camera. This camera is not any good for any viewing unless it’s on a wall or maybe very high ceilings. The setup is not the easiest either, it will not scan setup… only manual setup works. Advertised, it says 150° recording angle. Pictured, it shows down-views and room views. It would appear that it was designed to do a room view since the lens is on a slight beveled angle. All you get is down and slightly to the lens side view. Unless this was mounted on a 20 ft ceiling, you get no real field of view. Also, the base is smaller than most smoke alarms, especially ones that are designed to be hardwired and mounted to an outlet box. Basically it leaves a bunch of unfinished and open areas around the install area. Not great for hidden applications or the promise of easy installs. Very costly for such a small viewing angle. So why not 1 star? Although I am disappointed with this item, it is not without merit. It does do motion detection and forwards alerts. It has on board recording that is great and eliminates the need for cloud storage, but cloud storage is offered if you feel the need for it. The associated APP is glitchy. Live view is sporadic. What it does record is great quality, but due to the limited field of view, who’s identifying anyone by the number of hairs on their head? It would also appear that unless you get the extra subscription, you can’t access the camera off the network. Maybe if you wanted to wall mount the smoke alarm camera you could get more functionality out of it, but the connection issues and APP aggravation aren’t worth the price tag this unit demands. Great quality picture, but motion censor is overly sensitive (have to pay monthly for more refined motion detecting). The beveled shape points the camera in the wrong direction, directly at the ceiling, unless you position it so that the image is upside down. I could see all the mischief the cats were getting up to when I was out-of-town, so I'd know who to blame when I got home :D Read more
