I have been using the foam for about 10 days. I think there is some growth improvement in that time, but not enough to know for sure. What is certain is that the product instructions need work. They direct the user to “apply half a capful” two times a day. The problem is that this is a foam that is pumped out, not a liquid that can be poured into the cap. If the foam is pumped into the cap to measure, it is impossible to get it all out of the cap and onto the scalp. Instead of this approach, I used 4 “pumps” for each application. This was apparently a bit too much as the 15-day canister ran out in 10 days. So I am now trying 3 “pumps” per application. I would like to see the instructions changed to show a usable measurement method. And speaking of instructions, the user is directed to “See the enclosed booklet for complete directions on how to use”. Unfortunately, no such booklet was included in the box that i received. Why did they discontinued the topical liquid version? But OMG! This foam version the 2nd days my scalp already start getting tighten, 3rd days get even more crazy dried, and also like snow flakes! I must stopped using and washed it out, still big time dried after washed. It's has been 3 days after washing, and continuously dried, no flakes, that's because I stopped using it. NO WAY JOSE!!! I started using Tomum with low expectations since I had already tried several hair loss products without real results, but this one honestly surprised me. It’s very easy to apply, doesn’t leave the hair greasy, and has no strong smell. After a few weeks of consistent use, I noticed less hair falling out and my hair feels stronger and healthier overall. I am a 2 year 5% minoxidil foam user, ever since my dermatologist recommended it for thinning hair. I have mostly used Rogaine and Equate brands, but the price of this brand was so much cheaper I decided to give it a try. First, it’s too early to say how effective it is. Results take months to appear. So I cannot speak to that. I have had modest success with Minoxidil in the past. A win would be to not lose any of that ground. But I do have a couple of hesitations about this product. Although it is called a foam, it doesn’t act much like one. It does come out of the bottle vaguely foamy, but then immediately turns into a liquid and begins to drip, faster than I can begin rubbing it into my scalp. The dispenser at the top of the bottle is not narrow, but more like the pump nozzle of a facial moisturizer. So it is hard to control where the “foam” goes if I try to apply the foam directly to my scalp from the bottle. My hair is much more wet when I am finished than with the other brands. I am not able to concentrate the product solely on the scalp, where it needs to be. Finally, directions say to apply the 5% foam twice a day. But both Rogaine and Equate have directions calling for once a day application of the 5% foam. I am curious about that discrepancy. NIH research has concluded in a study that once-a-day application of 5% Minoxidil is as effective as the 2 times-per-day needed for 2% Minoxidil. It does leave me to wonder if this company can sell the brand more cheaply because they are having customers use twice as much as needed for efficacy, therefore doubling their profit. The jury is still out on this for me. I am not loving the application nozzle and the runny foam. But the price is tempting - especially because I use it once a day instead of twice. Read more
