So I purchased this for tent camping and have yet to use it but I will say this it’s small and compact and weights roughly about 30 pounds. I turned it on at home to see how strong it blows and surprisingly it blows very strong! As far as cooling I did feel extremely cold air coming out of the machine so I have no doubt this will work lovely for camping. It’s cheaper than any other ac on the market and it works very well. The first time I saw a listing for an OutoHome AC unit (this is my second, by the way), I thought to myself, "Who are these (apparently wealthy) fools trying to air condition the outdoors?" But now I've become one of those "fools" myself, I totally understand. This is a fine machine, that can make you comfortable even when your environment is hot and humid. It performs equally well inside or out, and at 31 pounds, it's easily portable to where you need it most. Even when it is humid and you need to hook up the drain tube, it's simple and easy to do. And it works FAST. With 5200 BTUs, this is comparable to a small window AC, though much quieter. You should watch some of the accompanying videos if you want to really understand the unit's versatility. It can be hooked up in such a way that, if you are camping, the unit itself is outside the tent with just the tubes blowing cold air into the area you want cooled. You'll need to watch a video to figure this out. One very puzzling thing: under the specifications, the power source is noted as "solar." Unless this feature is extraordinarily well hidden, the only power source I know that's gonna work this 400 watt machine is 120 volts AC. One other tip. This machine is all over Amazon. Be sure to look at the other listings and get the best price, because it can vary by several hundred dollars for the exact same unit. Highly Recommended. Read more

This is a very unique super portable AC. Don’t let its small size fool you, it packs a lot of power and can cool a good sized space. This is fairly heavy at 32 lb’s (when dry), but the handle on it makes picking it up easy. When holding it, the weight is well distributed, which makes it easier to carry. I’ve been using this with my Bluetti solar generator and it works well with it. I’ve tested this out on my screened in porch and also in my bedroom. If you use it outside and are sitting down wind of it, it cools you down quickly. In my bedroom, I connected the exhaust to my old portable air conditioner vent, it took some modifications, but it works well. This has a soothing sound and is fairly quiet for an AC. The remote control it comes with is easy to use. A Bluetooth connection would have been good, maybe in the future? Read more

We took this portable air conditioner on our last camping trip, and it was a game changer for keeping our tent comfortable. Even on a warm day, it managed to drop the temperature quite a bit in just a few minutes, making it much easier to relax and sleep. It's surprisingly powerful for its size, and it doesn't use up a ton of power (~350W), which is important when you're relying on a power bank or limited hookups. Setting it up was simple, and it's not too bulky to pack considering the convenience. Read more

This air conditioner is pretty impressive. I ran it in a 800 sq ft apartment on the 2nd floor. It cooled the whole apartment no problem. Hooking it up was a little confusing but with trial and error I figured it out by myself. It’s important to let it sit upright for at least a day for it to work properly. It’s a bit heavy so if you have a long hike to your tent this won’t be going with you. Good to have for many different reasons. Would highly recommend. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I found the Outohome 5200BTU Portable Air Conditioner to be super simple to use and effective. We have a chicken coop attached to our garage, and the temperatures can soar inside during hot, sunny days. When the temperatures inside the coop reach close to 100 degrees, I have set up the air conditioner at the opening from the garage into the coop. The air conditioner can drop the temperature by several degrees in under 30 minutes. The air conditioner is no louder than a fan, even on the highest setting. I have not seen water dripping out of the drainage hose. Still, I imagine that during high humidity or when using it as a dehumidifier, it will drip. I also found this air conditioner convenient on days when I'm working in the garage refinishing furniture, as it would be too hot otherwise. Read more
