We got this for my mom's apartment kind of very last minute when I knew the temps were going to soar and my mom had been putting off getting an AC unit since she'd had central air for so long, the whole idea of looking into portable AC units felt a bit overwhelming. Honestly, I picked this one because it could be delivered on time. Well, it's been great all summer. My mom's place is probably 1100-1200 square feet and this AC has kept the whole place cool enough. During the truly awful heat this summer it couldn't keep the whole place the 70 degrees that we set it at, but it managed to keep the temps quite pleasant. And now that the worst of the summer heat is over, it has no trouble at all keeping the place plenty cool. It truly has worked like a charm--not super loud, not as fragile as my old portable air conditioner seemed to be. I'm not sure about how energy efficient it is, but my mother has not complained about her electrical bill, so I'm guessing it is not too bad. I was worried that with the heat we've had this summer, this AC, which wasn't the most expensive and isn't a brand I knew, might not hold up, but it really has been great. Doesn't cool very well. I have this in a 250sq/ft room and if it's over 85 outside, it barely keeps my room below 75 degrees even on high and set at 61. I also had to add insulation tape around the exhaust port because it leaked a lot of hot air. It makes my room very humid. The dehumidifier doesn't work whatsoever and actually makes the humidity go up. I was using a window unit before that is rated for 400sq/ft, and it easily kept my room at whatever temperature I set it at. With my window unit, the humidity in my room would usually be around 50%. This piece of junk makes my room stay around 75-80%. I wish I could return it because I wasted my money. I bought 3 of them as well, so basically I threw away $1500. I should have just stuck with my window units. The heater does work well. That is the only good thing I can say about it. Read more
