This pillow is absolutely fantastic: 1) the shape makes it perfect for those who like sleeping on the side or on the back. It perfectly supports your neck and holds the head comfortably. 2) the difference thicknesses on the two sides makes it so you can get head and neck support, no matter your neck curvature. 3) the pillow keeps very cool, making your sleep comfortable. It maintains it's coolness even after you've been using it for a long while. This really helps my comfort level. 4) the fabric on the pillow is also very soft and cool. 5) my pillow did not smell like chemicals unlike what you read about these foam pillows. I used mine within an hour of unpacking and it was perfectly fine. Anyhow, I can't give this pillow enough stars. It is really comfortable and cool. This is my third iteration of this pillow. The first was a gift, the second was a purchase for a friend who has similar neck issues, and the third was offered through the company for purposes of review. This review will cover my experience with my introduction to this pillow, and my most recent experience with the latest model. I've been weight training for 35 years and have wear and tear back, neck and shoulder issues/surgeries. I started suffering from night headaches that disrupted my sleep and impacted my day. My brother bought me the first pillow, and I was skeptical. It looked uncomfortable and like it might be a little claustrophobic. I'm an active side sleeper who wakes easily. I've tried every pillow configuration, design, material and density over the years, and this pillow is the only I've found that truly keeps my neck and shoulders aligned in a pain-free position, whether I'm on my side or roll over onto my back during the night. There is a bit of a learning curve and adjustment period if you are new to the "butterfly" shape and/or memory foam. You will probably feel a little more "confined" to your space if you are active at night. However, within two weeks I had acclimated surprisingly well. I rarely experience headaches at night or wake up with headaches in the morning. In combination with gentle stretching and range of motion movements before bed, I'm sleeping more comfortably than I have in years. This latest version of the pillow has edges that look a little "rounder" or robust once it expanded outside of the box. I was mildly concerned that there would be another two week adjustment period, or that the increased material might be too much for optimal neck alignment, but this wasn't the case. If anything, it's the same pillow with just a bit more "softness" or "squish" at the superficial level. The core pillow shape feels the same and provides the same benefits. In fact, the new "squish" makes it feel a little more like sleeping on a regular pillow. Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a structured pillow designed to keep your head and neck aligned more than most pillows offered for this purpose--but the new one is slightly more...comfortable? Also, for those who have these concerns, there wasn't a noticeable chemical smell out of the box. For reference, I'm 5'5" and 123 lbs, so I can't comment on whether this pillow is a good choice for taller/heavier folks. That said, it's often difficult to find structured pillows that work on a smaller scale, and you can still turn the pillow around to change the height and angle. I have been waking up with kinks and pain in my neck and shoulders for a few months. This has not only disrupted my sleep, but I have been waking up with horrible headaches that are hard to get rid of. I read the reviews for this pillow and looked over the product information carefully prior to purchasing. I was hesitant to buy ANOTHER pillow (I can’t even begin to tell how much I’ve spent on pillows) and really wanted to know if this would work for me. After reading the reviews, I wasn’t sure how I could not try it. After using it for a week, I have zero neck or shoulder pain, which is absolutely amazing because I am ADHD and have an incredibly hard time relaxing, even for sleep. This hits exactly where it needs to on your neck and is extremely comfortable and soft. It keeps your head and neck at just the right height and makes me feel like my head is on a cloud when using it, and I actually look forward to sleep again.
