AA USB Battery Pack Power Bank for Smartphones Power Extender Phone Charger

I have a USB powered device that has no internal batteries. Normally I can plug it into a power converter, however sometimes I am somewhere where that is not possible. The typical power pack used to charge cell phones, etc does not work because it is designed to monitor the battery it is charging. When I tried these battery packs they would power the device for about 30 sec. then shut off. This AA battery pack operates like a power converter. My device draws about 1 amp of power and the batteries should last for at least 2 hours which is very acceptable for my use. Problem solved! Read more

The device, when working, did charge my cellphone. However, sometimes this device stopped charging my cellphone even though the batteries still had sufficient charge. Sometimes turning the device on and off worked, sometimes it did not. I rotated through electronic devices and USB cables to to ascertain if the issue was the charging device or my cables. It appeared to be the charging device. Also, the charging rate was variable. Overall, the device to date meets my needs, I just can't expect it to be a reliable or as consistently fast charging from the wall or a USB bank. However, the option to use AA batteries for emergency recharging makes this a worthwhile unit. An unexpected benefit was that it comes with a built in flashlight. Read more
