Beautifully made, quality vent. Beware of noise if using in a high flow application
Beautifully made, well finished piece. I have purchased a few vents lately. This was the most expensive, and by far the best made one. The quality easily justifies the higher cost. It appears to be made of steel, and is heavy enough to maintain its shape even if the surface is slightly imperfect. The vent is nicely painted inside and out in a slightly matte and creamy white. It is not stark white. It should go well enough with most interior whites but could be repainted if necessary. For my application I like that the louvers direct the air to one side. One downside is that the air flow becomes somewhat noisy. I am using this on the exhaust of a fan than runs at either 80 or 110 CFM. These are pretty big numbers for a 6" round vent. With out the vent in place the air flows smoothly and quietly out of the ductwork. With the vent in place, there is noticeable noise due to airflow. I found the noise unacceptable at 110 CFM. At 80 CFM it is noticeable but acceptable. Probably at a more typical 60 CFM or less it would not be an issue for anyone. I am not lowering my rating for noise because I believe that all similar vents would have this issue to some degree, and the airflow in my application is higher than typical. Read more
