I've owned three memory foam toppers and this is by far the best. Its cut dimensions perfectly fit my queen size mattress. The very mild odor disappeared in 2 days. The other toppers I've owned, a Novaform from Costco, and an Iso-Cool with Outlast cover from Amazon both slept hot. The Accu-Gold topper is not hot at all. This topper is much firmer than the others I've owned, but that was expected for it is simply a firmer memory foam. This pad being a full 4 inches does not bottom out to the point where I can feel the mattress beneath it like some thinner toppers I've had. The main reason I bought this topper was because I've had seven spinal surgeries, five of which were fusions with hardware. The arthritis in my thoracic spine between my shoulder blades waking me nightly from pain had become too much to live with anymore. After a series of short relief steroid injections and facing yet another fusion surgery I decided to try this topper as a last ditch measure. The first morning after sleeping on it my mid back pain was less. Today it is gone. While the arthritis is obviously not gone, the pain is. The only recommendation I have is that this topper may be too firm for many. I weigh 200 pounds and it works for me. Really needed a new mattress but this did the trick in the interim. Very comfortable. It is a little more firm than I thought it would be but offers great support and we sleep much better at night because of it. Rarely wake up with any pain now. Read more

I was looking for a legit memory foam that is to the firm side like the one I had years ago and this is it, with the doughy feeling you expect from real memory foam, not that spongy cheap memory foam with no "memory" to it that other companies are selling. This is a more firm memory foam, the 5.3 rating seems spot on. Plus its Made in the USA. Do not expect it to be ready that first night you get it, the package says up to 96 hours (it was 2 days for us) it will look ready in a few hours but still be rock hard, so give it some time, its worth the wait. I ordered this because my new foam mattress which is suppose to be an 8 out of 10 for firmness was not firm, so reading the reviews I ordered this to place on top to give my new mattress more firmness, well that DID NOT WORK, this foam mattress was so soft I sunk into it like quick sand and it was extremely hot and I am a cold natured person. Would not suggest this particular foam mattress for firmness but if you like super soft with a touch of warmth it would work out great! Read more

I think I read every review before purchasing this....and it's as hard as they said it was...true to stated size..heavy...thick.... It's good - just too firm for us - and you really do get 'stuck' in the ruts you make when you lay on it... kinda wish we hadn't bought it...but with this kind of firmness it should last a long time. I ALWAYS do my homework before buying a new product. I did so with the Accu-Gold 5.3, and so far, it is EXACTLY what we needed on our bed, to help us with our back issues. We needed firm, with a little bit of softness, and the Accu-gold 5.3 delivers. My wife has a serious back injury, and I have scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, and other painful, spine-related issues, so regular memory foam pads were out of the question. Tried them before, and they were MURDER on my back. Our regular queen mattress is a good one, but it wasn't quite supportive enough. This foam topper has made a HUGE difference for us and our sleep! Pressure points have all but disappeared. I will always be forced to sleep in pain, but this product has cut my personal night time pain level, quite significantly. THANK YOU, Accutex! The mattress pad is made well. However, it messed up our backs. We tried it out for over a month. I'm thinking that since the upper body is heavier, we sink further into the pad, which causes our bodies to not be aligned. I woke up everyday with my hip, back and chest hurting. I weigh 130 and my husband weighs 180, so I don't think it was our weight. I'm sure since it has been used we cannot return it, so it's in the box in storage. Read more
