Amazing fast product!

Solid steucture, very nice battery life, fast, and safely brakes for you when you are moving too fast to notice. Mildly waterproof and charging port had to be tweaked to work but overall a lovely product for the price!! Read more

Series 2 not the best

MichaelJuly 24, 2024

To start I am 250 lbs and my partner who is the primary user is 350 lbs so take what I say with a grain of salt as we're both over the weight limit. The engine often dies or struggles even on flat terrain. This is with both of us roughly equally. The latch is not easy to use in he begining. It can get stuck and if you don't take prior time to inspect it you may not figure it out especially if your in a hurry. Getting around it works nice when it actually runs which is most of the time. It climbs hills, just not well and not without assistance from pushing like it was a regular scooter. For the price we paid we love it and I might get one for myself as well If your looking for a good scooter to get you place to place and you weight more than 170 I don't recommend but if like us you use it to take you to a bus stop or shirt trips to the local conscience store and you don't have a ton urgency id recommend. It's a basic upgrade from my no engine push scooter and alot better for my partner then walking up the hill and all the way to the stop. Summarize Good for the price, not great for larger people. Does the basic job and sometimes needs assistance. Read more

Just ok.

As I opened the box I was really excited for this scooter but putting it together only 3 of the 4 screws could be put in all way. Mine also won't fold and was incredibly hard to get the folding latch on, lots of push force was used & the latch won't come undone Besides that the scooter rides at 15 mph and not the best up hill. The scooters ride times says it's 18.5 range, but it is not. It seems to die after 12 miles. Charging is easy but what's most frustrating is after 20 mins of riding the throttle won't bite and won't accelerate until I shut it down for up to 5-8 minutes For reference I'm 5'3 &130 lbs. Thus scooter was to use for me to get to work on my own while saving for a car.. but it seems this one wasn't the one. Read more

Fun, lots of range....

Nebti21December 17, 2023

This is my second serious electric scooter. Three years ago I got a Jetson Knight with similar specs to this scooter. Though this and a companion 250 watt scooter are Acer's first foray into electric vehicles, this scooter is every bit the equal of the Jetson--and in many ways an improvement. The ES Series 5 is a 350 watt scooter, a middle-of-the-road power for a scooter. Actually, I'd prefer 500 watts for greater speed and power, but 350 watts is sufficient for the hills in my part of Ohio. My grandson's OneWheel has a 750 watt motor and he can ride it up long steep drives--not fast, but capably. This scooter probably couldn't go up the drive of the cabin we rented in Gatlinburg, but most of us will be using this in towns or cities and there aren't many 30 degree hills in most urban settings. What does set this scooter apart from my Jetson is its range. The Jetson had a battery that fit in the handlebar tube and provided only 15 miles of range. This scooter has a tall platform under which is a capacious battery giving 35 miles of range on a full charge . That's great range. It takes 8 hours to charge the battery fully. In addition, this Acer has tires filled with foam, making flat tires a thing of the past. Non-pneumatic tires lead to a bit stiffer ride, but there is a slight suspension/flex on the rear wheel, mitigating the stiffness somewhat. This scooter's platform is higher than many--as are its handlebars. It's nice not to have to crouch to hold the controls and to have a few more inches under your feet. The one negative is that the length of the handlebar isn't as wide as some scooters. Braking is limited to a rear disk brake and motor braking. No front brake means skids are more likely. The integrated front light is dim and not great for night use. The rear lights are, by contrast, quite bright. Overall, this is a competitive scooter at the price: well built, long range, slightly underpowered--though the range somewhat makes up for the lack of power. Read more

Inferior to Segway

Peter DNovember 9, 2023

Some background - I have owned two electric scooters from Segway Ninebot, the ES4 and the Max. I have used them and other e-scooters extensively. I am a 6’1” 200 lb male. The good: 3 modes - slow mode I hit 5 Km/hr, medium 10 km/hr, and fast 25 km/hr. I do not know how to change to miles per hour on the device but metric works for me. It’s a bit slower than my other scooter but it’s fine. Weight isn’t too heavy. Has rear disc brake. The bad: first, when assembling I was not pleased to see the wiring taped together in a flimsy way. It made no sense that they use a connector for some wires and tape for others (see second photo). Next, the kickstand bottom is rough and damaged my flooring. The tires are smaller than my Ninebot Max and it is somewhat less stable. Finally, braking is inferior as well. Overall: at $500, there isn’t enough savings between this and more expensive models to justify choosing the cheaper option. When using these, safety matters and I would opt for the better made product. Does it work? Yes. But I think it should be at a $300 price point. Read more
