The size chart is correct...Sadly. As this does exactly what it says it does, I can't knock it down a star. But seriously, I bought this because I already feel fat!!!! Why does this brand size me at larger than a 3XL????? I bought this shape wear to boost my self-esteem, not make me feel like more of a whale! Due to my perimenopausal body, I have belly fat, that I can't get rid of, no matter what I do. So for my own ego, I purchased a 3XL (the largest available) I thought "it's just an inch and I could use the extra snatch." The 3XL fits, but I am sure a 4XL, would be much more comfortable. But I guess they just don't make these that size, which is sadly a normal US 10 or Large. I am 5'3" short waisted and the height goes from the bottom of my bra to a bit above my hips. My waist is 35.2"/hips 41.5". Dresses/shirts I wear a medium. I usually wear lower rise jeans. My pants/shorts/skirts/panties are usually large or 10, sometimes medium based on brand. This waist control shapewear, appears to be good quality and the price for a 2 pack is a great deal. I purchased this for a specific dress/event, where I really need to look...better than I actually do. I am using in combination with some hip dip shorts. This does not show through my dress, and definitely does it's job. Being a little over, 1 waist inch too small, it is not something I would wear daily or even for a full work day. This waist trainer is different from many others I've worn. Here are the key differences. 1. It's all one piece. 2. It's slip-on and non-adjustable. (I.e. no hooks, snaps, buttons, or Velcro.) 3. It has the Reinforced boning for added compression. This has an extremely firm hold for me as a size 14/16. I ordered the 3X according to the size chart pictured. It is going to be more comfortable and wearable for longer periods If I wear it when I've dropped a few lbs.. I can't size up with this specific one and that is okay. If you're in between sizes, I recommend sizing up with this one if you want to be able to move and breathe. It's a great waist cincher. I have no complaints with the garment itself.
