Bought this after a shoulder injury. Comes with 2 of their gel/ ice packs. You can use 1 or both at same time. Each side has a sleeve that you slide it into. Im able to use this for about 30 to 45 mins and then throw gel packs in freezer for next time. Haven't tried to use it for heat. Definitely worth the $$ in my opinion. Some have said it didn't fit. Can't see how as it is adjustable and can go on either shoulder Read more

Update: I’m leaving my initial review in the hopes that others with this issue will know how to fix it and how awesome the customer service is with this company. After leaving this review, I got a message next day telling me that they would refund my purchase price and to keep the wrap to give to someone else who might be able to use it. While I believe the item I received is a defective item (the arm hole and shoulder sections are a clear mismatch), the cold packs are the bomb, and I will definitely use them! Plus, they refunded my money as well as allowing me to keep the item. I may try to make an adjustment to the arm to see if I can make the product usable. Regardless, I give their customer service great marks and I would try one of their products again for that reason alone. Just know you need to contact CS if you have an issue and they will work it out promptly. Amazon won’t allow returns through their system. I love the gel packs that come with this product. I liked that the product had multiple ice packs in it and that they were made of hot/cold gel. I was so excited to try it. As a plus sized woman, I ordered the XL size to ensure it would fit around my arms. My arms aren’t huge, but they’re not small either. So it’s a usual concern for me. I wear about a size 16/18 in tops and dresses. Many customers had noted how large the l/XL wrap was, so I was sure it would be big if anything. The armhole on this wrap was so tight, I couldn’t wear it comfortably for even a few minutes. Additionally, the shoulder portion was so much bigger than my chest that I couldn’t make it fit by tightening the straps because my arm wouldn’t fit all the way into the sleeve. There is no way a man with large muscles would have been able to wear this shoulder wrap. Is it a fluke? A defect? I have no idea because the worst part of the entire experience is that I specifically ordered this wrap because the description says it’s refundable and backed by a fit guarantee. But when you try to return it, Amazon says it is ineligible for return. Nice bait and switch! So, I guess I’m out the cost of this wrap because I can’t wear it and can’t return it. Total waste. Buyer beware. If you’re concerned about size, look elsewhere! Read more

About a month ago, I had rotator cuff surgery; the procedure I underwent was Superior Capsular Reconstruction. Once the large bandage was removed (three days after surgery), I used the ActiveWrap with gel pouches. While the large bandage was in place, I used the Ice Pack the hospital provided, along with a frozen bag of peas. The ActiveWrae product performed better than expected, reducing swelling. I used it for 20 minutes, then took a 40-minute break, during the first week after surgery. In the second week, I iced the surgically repaired shoulder five times a day. I am maintaining this routine and continue using it after therapy. I ordered two additional gel pouches, which proved helpful, and I recommend them along with the ActiveWrap shoulder ice pack wrap. I found the ActiveWrap ice pack easy to use, and unlike the plug-in ice machine, it provides mobility while icing, and costs much less. As suggested, I ordered the extra-large size for shoulder reconstruction surgery; however, once the large bandage was removed, the large size would have been sufficient. I found the gel pouches remain cold for about 30 minutes, which is 10 minutes longer than recommended. I am incredibly pleased with the product and highly recommend it. Read more

I bought this for my wife, a cellist who’s recovering from shoulder surgery. She likes to put ice on her shoulder after she practices the cello. Admittedly she’s not a small person, but the Large/Extra Large size is NOWHERE NEAR big enough. The sleeve isn’t adjustable, and the strap that goes around the body is a good 6 inches too short. You’d think a product designed for athletes would accommodate a wider rage of body types. Read more

Used after shoulder replacement surgery. The cool water machine from the hospital worked okay, but the shoulder pad sent with it did not reach around the upper arm where there was a lot of swelling. It required someone other than me to prepare it since there was a weight limitation on the replaced shoulder to a coffee cup or cereal bowl. There is no moving around when using the machine. Applying the straps required 2 people. When using this XL ActiveWrap shoulder hot/ice pack wrap, we worked with it to find the best fit. To draw the gap on the top of the shoulder down, we put the long strap under my other shoulder, across my chest and tightened all the straps to draw the cold packs closer. My upper arms are very large and would not have fit inside the next size down. Not used the hot pack feature - only cold. NOTE: It is extremely cold, much colder than the 2 reusable hot./cold packs I had at home, even in the 2nd pouch away from the body. Compensated by using 1 or 2 dish cloths over my shoulder and it was perfect. This is a weighty product, but not so uncomfortable that I couldn't get up and move. Read more
