Everyone should back up all files, photos, documents, anything on their computer they don't want to lose. Don't feel safe with apps that guarantee to protect your info from hackers. Come on, some hackers develop those apps. Your data is no better off in some cyber cloud either. The clouds scare me the most. Hackers can get your info quicker in a cloud than through your computer app. You must protect, ( backup) your info every few days or at least weekly. If you are hacked, the hackers may be able to cause you temporary heaaches and glitches, but, if you have your info backed up, you still have your info and you can change passwords, change any info you need that the hackers can no longer use, because you have backed up your data on an external hard drive!!! I rated this hard drive 4 stars because, it stated in the HDD description that you simply plug it into the USB port and turn it on and it is ready to go. Such was not the case. I followed the instructions, and after about two hours finally got it to work. Don't know what the problem was. I'm no IT person, but I know quite a bit about computers and this hard drive was not a plug and use. Once I had it set up, works very quickly, quietly, and has 1T of memory! So, I'm happy. Read more

I have one for work and now one for my personal computers. Very fast and ultra quiet. Appears to be carbon fiber, and rubber case has proven both tough and durable. Have dropped the harddrive on multiple occasions and have had zero corrupt data. Read more
