I own many adjustable weight vests and wanted a heavier one for in my shed gym since my heaviest one is currently in the house. This vest has comfortable padding for resting on your shoulders and has adjustable straps to ensure it does not slide off while working out which is important. The glow in the dark stripe is a nice added touch so you can be better seen at night if out for a walk. It would be even better if the stripe was on the front and back instead of only one side. I like that it is easily adjustable in 2lb increments by adding or removing small weighted bags that are secured by velcro flaps. However, I have one issue with this vest which should not have even been an issue had someone thought this thru and tested it before making it available to purchase. On the front and back are two velcro flaps to secure up to five different weighted bags (ten bags in total) which sounds great at first. The issue is if you use the nine bags (yes 9 not 10) that are provided yes you will get up to 18lbs as advertised but this creates an unnecessary inbalance of weight which could lead to injury over time. So if you want to use this vest with balanced weight you can only use it with the three middle pouches in the front and back for 12lbs total. Any easy fix for this is to buy a bag of play sand or dig some dirt up in your yard and scoop it into a gallon size zipper bag and weigh it to be sure it is exactly 2lbs. If you do this you can now also use this as a 20lb vest since all ten pouches (five in the front and five in the back) can be used. You can buy a 50lb bag of play sand for about five bucks at a building supply store but what do you do with the remaining 48lbs of play sand that you are then left with since they do not sell smaller bags of any type of sand? Another possible fix would be if this simply came with one more weighted bag or if they sold individual replacement bags separately. As for a using it as a 12lb vest it is okay but a little too bulky since it is really supposed be for heavier weights. I hope they revise this and include one more weighted pouch so that it can be marketed as a 20lb adjustable weight vest instead of 18lbs then this would be a really nice weighted vest. Read more
