This weighted vest arrived quickly, but overall left me disappointed. Right of the bat - two of the zippers (one in the back and one on the front pocket) were broken! While this is not affecting the wear, it should not be the case for a brand new product! The vest is true to size and was easy to put on and adjust the straps for better fit. Unfortunately, though, the straps loosen as you move. I didn't do any vigorous exercises - just walked! - and had to constantly pull on the straps to keep the vest from sliding down. I was wearing it over my clothes and by the end of my 30 minute walk the shoulder straps had rubbed me enough to leave red marks (from having to constantly adjust them). I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if I wore fewer layers. The vest does weigh 12 pounds as advertised, but the sand sections of the vest are not sewn completely, so the sand shifts as you move, and if you are upright the sand slides down. As a result the top sections are almost flat (practically no sand left there), and the two bottom rows seem to have all the sand. The vest feels and looks bulkier because of this and it's not comfortable or flattering: it feels like you're wearing a bell. Upon wearing this vest once, the main zipper started to detach at the bottom, which speaks to the overall flimsy construction. At the time of my order and as of this review this vest was priced at around seventy bucks which is considerably higher than most vests of the same weight, and considering that the quality is subpar I cannot recommend this vest. Ordered this Breathable Mesh vest with adjustable side and shoulder supports at 12LBS for Strength Training when riding my bike, walking and preparation for deer season. I mostly will use this for biking in the summer and walking in the winter, it's better than steel weights wrapped in a backpack. They say it can be used as tactical vest for paint ball games but I'm not using it for that, however having been paint baller early on, it will definite soften a blow. This vest comes at 12 pounds with 6 pounds in the front and 6 in the back. Whats important: 1) This evenly distributes the weight front and back, the front has 2 x 3 pound weights that are held inside the vest with 5 clips each. 2) The back has a single 6 pound weight that is held in place by 7 clips the front and back weights are not interchangeable 3) The straps and clips on the sides and shoulders are heavy duty, the clips to hold the weights in a are smaller and not as robust 4) The 2 front pocket zippers, front zipper functions smoothly, however the teeth are very small making me question the long term durability, only time will tell 5) Reflective tape along the sides of the zipper is a nice touch, there are additional strips of reflective material on the top and middle of each shoulder strap 6) There is additional room in the back to shove in a couple pounds more if needed 7) I walked my usual route today and was pleased with the degree of comfortability 8) My concerns are that black is hot in the sun and that means perspiration. The description says hand wash only, bummer, I'll remove the weights marking the front left, front right and back top and throw it in on delicate and see what happens Overall this weighted vest is very well designed and I highly recommend it, pictures provided to help you make your purchase decision.
