The vets is padded in the right spots, so the vest does not wear down my shoulders or make them ache. The material seems like police or military grade. I ordered this for my husband and he uses it almost daily. Pros: You can easily adjust how much weight you carry The velcro straps at the bottom are long enough to adjust to either his size or mine (I'd call him an average size guy for his 40's, and I'm petite and we can both use it). Cons: This is the first vest we've had and we'd both say it could use improvement on the comfort. I don't know how it compares to others, but I know my shoulders feel strained using it, and both of us feel like the way the weight is distribute could cause some neck strain, too. Maybe not a con, but at least a tip: This is hard to drop down over your head when the weights are in it, at least for me. To help with that, you could add the front weights after you put it on. The media could not be loaded. This is an excellent weight vest. It includes 30 lbs of weight, but it is broken up into small pieces. So, you can compartmentalize how much weight you wear at any given use. Each side has an intuitive strap to adjust the fit. It is easy to use and fits comfortably and snugly.
