Works - but not for everyone
As a loyal American Crew user for over a decade, I picked up the Aiqiusha Hair Styling Powder out of pure curiosity. I wanted to see if a powder could actually replace my daily hair gel. After experimenting with it and watching a few tutorials, I’ve realized that these two products are designed for very different worlds. The Application Struggle: The biggest hurdle for me was the application itself. Unlike gel, which you can easily control with your hands, sprinkling this powder evenly onto your own head is a challenge. I struggled to apply it DIY-style without making a mess or getting too much in one spot. It feels like a product that is much easier for a barber to apply than for a person to use on themselves. Style and Performance: I have short hair that is quite spiky on the sides, and the powder simply didn't work as well for me there as a traditional gel. While the powder does provide a more "natural," matte look—which is great if that’s your goal—the process takes significantly longer than a quick gel application. It lacks the immediate "taming" power needed for my sideburns and shorter sections. The Verdict: If you are looking for a weightless, matte finish and have the patience to master the "sprinkle and rake" technique, this powder works. However, for someone used to the speed and reliability of American Crew gel, the extra effort wasn't worth the trade-off. It’s a specialized tool for a specific look, but it won’t be replacing my gel anytime soon. Read more
