Disclaimer - I have only used this for one night, but seems to work well so far. We were using an Optimus U-32000 "warm mist" type for many years, which I absolutely loved since it had a humidistat and did not have the "white dust" problem of ultrasonic types. The only problem with the warm mist humidifier was that the humid hot air rose up to our old plaster ceiling, condensed on it, and after 10 years caused the plaster to buckle. So we put this MH-505 humidifier 4 feet from the bed, with the vent pointing towards it. Hopefully the cool moist air will stay low and not effect the ceiling. I set the power on "low" and the humidistat on 40% (the lowest it will go) and placed a separate humidity meter next to the bed. The separate humidity meter read 20% before we turned on the humidifier, and by morning had risen to 30% which is exactly what we wanted. It only used 1" of distilled water overnight (on "low"). Pros: I love the features and the display, and the ease of setting it. The "dim LED" feature is a great idea - it shuts off the bright LED display so it does not keep you awake. I like the shape, color, and design. The only "cons" I have is that I wish you could set the humidistat down to 30%RH (it currently only goes to 40%), and I wish that it could display the surrounding humidity down to 10% (it currently only displays down to 31%). Well constructed and performs great. Raised the RH of an 18' X 11' room to a comfortable level in about 40 min on highest setting. What I really liked was the fact that this machine produces a very fine mist; there was no pooling or accumulation of water on the surface where the unit sits. It is super quiet....only an occasional "gurgle". Used the unit at night in a bedroom. Some reviewers found the LED display not too bright for bedroom use, however for me I preferred to use the dimmer switch as there is are a lot of LED's lit up on the display. The display can be minimized / dimmed. Distilled water is suggested for hard water systems, however the instructions mention filtered water can also be used. I am using water from my BRITA filter system. Will see if this is sufficient to prevent any buildup. Water tank is large and seems to be sufficient for extended use without refill, even at high settings. Read more

This humidifier is great for adding moisture to the air. It has a 1.37-gallon capacity which allows it to run for 11 nights on low setting. I'm using it keep moisture in my living room, which means it runs for about 24 hours on the high setting. It is so quiet that you don't notice it when on. It doesn't leak when the filter is in place after filling it. I like how easy it is to clean and maintain. The settings are amazing, and it has an auto on and off feature to help keep the cost of energy low. It is a good value to purchase and use. This is my second unit as the fan motor went out on the first one, and was useless to have on hand. I like Air Innovations products and supplies, so will purchase from them when I need to get supplies for it. Read more

I needed a steamer for my son's bedroom when he had bronchitis. I've previously used Crane, but I needed a new one. It works great and puts out a lot of steam for a small unit. We use it on the lowest setting in my son's room, which is about 130 sq. ft, with 8 foot ceilings. It puts out a decent amount of steam. I also used it in a larger space on a higher setting with good success. It helps him sleep better at night. It is relatively easy to clean, as far as these types of devices are. There is a 'ceramic' filter inside which needs to be rinsed periodically. I'm not sure exactly what it's supposed to do, probably reduce mineral content. The one feature I like is the ability to dim the display at night. I haven't used any of the other fancy features, so your mileage may vary in that respect. The design is cool and reminds me a bit of a Transformer. It has a very small footprint, so it can fit on a dresser or sturdy shelf. Overall highly recommended. Read more

I should have done my research before I bought. It is a nice humidifier, but when I saw "ceramic filter" I anticipated a heavy duty filter. The filter itself is plastic that is filled with ceramic beads to do the filtering. It works great, but not as heavy duty as I thought when purchasing it. Read more

Very attractive, yet unobtrusive, Humidifier. Runs quietly, all night, in my bedroom. Be sure to use the "Dim Light" setting for the dial, if you are sensitive to light. Liked the first one so much, I ordered a second for my home office. Read more

This is the 2nd humidifier that I bought from Air Innovations. I had my prior one for over a year and it is still going strong. It is very quiet and is easy to fill and clean. It even comes with a tiny brush that is stored in a slot inside the water well. It is very well designed. My other ultrasonic humidifiers from a different company in the shape of animals and in the shape of R2D2 all stopped working after one year of use. This one seems much more reliable. I didn't think that I would like the push button digital interface but after using it for a while, I like it now. Read more

This is the second of this model and the third Air Innovations humidifier I have purchased. The New York Times WireCutter's favorite by Levoit comes up far short. The Levoit requires a network connection and an app just to set the humidity levels. It only comes with a cheap foam filter. And top filling is no easier than filling the Air Innovations. The AI's more effective filter can manage hard water. It has a wider level of mist settings. And setting humidity levels is easy. There is no function that can't be controlled via the front panel. There is absolutely no network connection required. It has hand grips on both the top and bottom for easy transport empty or full. It is a much more substantial unit. For another $10-15, the WireCutter shouldn't even be considered. Oh, and it comes with a filter brush attached to the inside of the base - very intelligent product design. Read more
