The second I put these on I felt like Abby from NCIS haha They are a little more chunky than I normally would go for but they are really comfortable and not as heavy as they look like they would be. The calf of the boot fits well, not too tight but not loose and wrinkly. I have worn them in the rain and cold with no issues so far. The zipper works like it should without catching but they can be slid on without the zipper if you aren’t tucking jeans. I got these boots for cold weather and because they looked so cute. I've worn similar platform shoes and they tend to be surprisingly comfortable to walk in. To me, they seem to run large - I got my usual size, 7.5, and they fit more like an 8. In the thinnest socks I own, my foot slides inside the shoe with almost a full centimeter of spare space at the heel. Even in my thickest thermal socks with jeans, they still feel loose. Maybe it's because I have thin heels and ankles (though my toes are wide). The higher heel angles the shoe so my toes slide forward as I walk, and paired with the lack of strong ankle structure, my feet hurt like they do in high heels after just ten minutes of walking around the house. Luckily, when I tried them on with both pairs of socks layered (not uncommon for me in cold weather), they fit well and were comfortable. I may need to do that anyway, as they're surprisingly not very warm on their own. They can definitely accommodate a thick ankle and a large calf, and the toe box is spacious both vertically and horizontally. The zippers are sturdy and conveniently located on the inner side of the leg, but the two ends tend to click against each other when I walk. I'd say if you intend to wear them with thin socks, get half a size down from your regular size, and get your regular size only if you'll wear very thick socks. Read more
