Was concerned about heat risk with family dogs or overheating the floor in front of the unit, but have not experienced any concerns there. I do turn it off during the day. The picture is a little off. This is a little over 2’ tall and about 8” in diameter. SO, it does not take up space. It puts out good heat and ocilates and you can adjust the temp output and fan speed. I am VERY satisfied with it and would buy again. The flame part looks good. It heats a 18x18 room very well.
