So retirement is looming large (and getting larger by the day) and I needed the perfect ensemble for my day to day wear. Priority one: super comfortable, hooded, long robe, in the softest fleece on the market. As I was perusing the Alexander Del Rossa collection I noticed some robes had 220 gsm and others 330 gsm. After a bit of investigation the 330 is on the high end of quality fleece - Check. What about size? I'm 5' 7"ish and weigh 150 -160lbs which puts me in the mid-zones. I also couldn't decide on the color so I ordered two. Pink in size L-XL and the grey in the S-M. Well my dilemma only got worse. The smaller size fit perfectly, but the larger size felt like a warm blanket. Oh my. What to do? Keep both! One for day wear and one for night. Someone posted that the fur was fake. Not sure what that meant, but real fur would have been unthinkable and the description is accurate. The fur is made with cute ears and soft, not a deal killer. I was waiting to actually wear them until I'm free from working, but one night was a little chilly and I gave in. What a joy! Wrapped in perfectly pink cloud of heavenly warmth. What better way to drift off into dreamland? Business grey for daywear is magic, I can walk my dogs and sipping on my Mocha Latte. So ready for full retirement, at least my wardrobe is good to go. I am a woman who is blind. I use a screen reader, which is a little piece of software on my computer, that reads the screen to me, to navigate the internet. I dislike purchasing things online because I cannot physically see them myself. I can't touch them, hold them, try them on or get a feel for how they work. And returning things for me, is a pain. Despite my hesitation regarding this, I went ahead and ordered the robe because it sounded amazing! I looked at many of the reviews prior to purchasing and looked at the size chart. I'm 5 feet 7 inches and weigh approximately 160 pounds. I purchased the purple with faux fur trim. I adore the robe itself! I love the texture of the fleece, so beautiful and soft! I love the fur. I love the hood and wrapping myself in this when I become too cold at night or in the mornings. I love the length; it goes down to my ankles. I adore the pockets, which are plenty big enough for my Sony phone. I tend to run cold and this robe is incredibly warm, which I love. However, the size chart seemed to indicate that for someone with a 34 to 36-inch waist, such as myself, I needed to purchase a large. I did. I usually fit into a medium in regular clothes sizes, so was surprised when the size chart seemed to indicate that I needed to purchase a large. This robe is so big that I can almost wrap it around myself twice, and use it as a blanket, in addition to tying it closed with the belt and inside ties. This is not exactly what I was looking for. I don't want the robe to be too snug, however it is so big that I feel like I am lost in it. I love the belt itself and the inside ties do keep it closed, which is great! I have never had a robe with an inside tie in addition to the belt before and it is amazing! It even has a hook to hang the robe on a door, which is wonderful! I would love to exchange this for a medium. However, I logged in today and apparently, I am just one day past my return date. Oh well, I will donate this to a charity shop and purchase a medium. I wanted to love this robe - it’s nice and long, the fabric of the body is great, and it’s a good price. Problem is the fur trim: it looks really cool, but it’s very cheap synthetic that’s kind of rough and matted. I liked the rest of the robe so much that I found the version without the fur and bought that one instead. Read more
