This Almay Gleam Big Lip Serum is a nicely hydrating lip gloss. I ordered the shade Lavender Dreams, which has a soft pink-purple tint that looks subtle and flattering on the lips. It can be worn on its own or layered over lipstick for a glossy finish. The formula applies smoothly and feels lightweight—there’s no thick or sticky feeling at all. I also really like the applicator; it’s very soft and comfortable to use. The only downside for me is the scent. It has a noticeable smell that I don’t find very pleasant, and I think a light, natural fragrance would have made the product more enjoyable. I also feel it’s slightly overpriced for a lip gloss, especially since I noticed other shades were listed for a few dollars less. It’s a nice product, but the scent and price point could be improved. This lip gloss is super cute! I love the brand of this gloss, so I knew it would be a good quality gloss if nothing else. The color is as expected. The pigmentation is what it appears to be in the photos. I actually have a few of these exact "Gleam Big Lip Serum" and the colors do look exactly like the photos. Very happy with the colors versus what I expected. The smell is vertually non-existent. It doesn't have a weird smell, it doesn't have a good smell. It doesn't have much of a smell at all, which for me, personally, is great because I don't want my lips smelling. I'd prefer to focus on perfume and lotions for that. I don't need a scent coming from my gloss. It goes on smoothly with the supplied brush. I do like the applicator. It's a standard, typical gloss applicator. It stays on fairly well. As long as you aren't drinking a lot, where it will rub off, eating, or touching your mouth, it does stay on a good amount of time. When I wear it at home it tends not to last very long. However, when at work, I'm surprised to catch myself in the mirror a few hours into work and still see it on. So, the ability to stay out is there. It all depends on what you're doing. This is not some serum that will actually plump your lips. I believe people could easily be confused in thuinking this will chemically make their lips swell or something along those lines. It does not do that. However, the name is a little deceiving for some people if you don't know better. So, please don't mistake this for something that will actually, physically swell your lips. This is simply a gloss that makes your lips looks glossy, and a bit larger due to that. Overall, great price for what you get. The gloss is in a large tube. I do recommend this product. Almay is a great brand and this price is a really great price for them! I wanted to add, I did wear this over lipstick/stain one evening and it works AWESOMELY if you wear a color on your lips and want a little pop over that color. During the day, it works well as a nice shimmer. For evening, it really can make a stain pop. It does appear to last over color a little better than on bare lips, but I still love it day or night. This lip serum really exceeded my expectations. It truly does do exactly as it says the listing. The color is exactly as shown in the listing. Once applied, it doesn’t make your lips look overly orange. It’s a very natural color to me. My lips truly do gleam with these. It makes them so shiny. But unlike other lip glosses this last a long time on your lips. It’s not so easy to rub it off. I do find that eating makes it rub off. So when I go to eat, I find myself wiping it off first because of how much product is left on my lips. I applied it to dry lips in the immediately provided comfort and moisturized them rapidly. I don’t even consider other lip products whenever I sense I have dryness in my lips, this is the one I go to now! It does not cause any pain on cracked lips either. Instead, it’s very soothing and I feel like it helps protect my lips quite a lot. It’s a very high quality and thick serum. It has similar aspects to a sticky type of lipgloss, but it does not create any strings of gloss whenever you’re opening your mouth unless there’s a large amount of gloss spread unevenly. It does feel a little heavy on your lips, but that’s how I know it doesn’t budge once applied! Overall, I feel great using this lip serum! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.
