I am using this for my outside kitchen so I can see everything going on via my PC. Very clear, built well and very easy to setup and use. Great for creating your own camera fitting your needs. Plug it into a PC and it works. That simple. Read more
The Way I See It—December 22, 2025
This seems to be a good quality camera with a solid build. The image quality is good and it was easy to use. Windows 11 recognized it as soon as it was plugged in. So the functionality was great. I ordered another lens for mine so I could swap out the fisheye lens for a less distorted image, and back again depending on what I need at the time. The camera's lens mount is a M12*0.5 mount, an industry-standard S-mount, which screws directly into a board-level holder. Works well for what I need. Read more

I picked this up as a replacement camera for my Mac setup and it ended up working out really well. Plug‑and‑play was legit—no driver headaches—and it was recognized right away. The wide‑angle view is great for calls or projects where you want more in the frame, and low‑light performance is better than I expected for something this compact. Image quality is clear and consistent, especially for everyday use. The only small downside is that the fisheye effect is noticeable if you’re not expecting it, but once you account for that, it’s a really solid option. Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ (4.3 stars—easy setup and a great replacement!) Read more

I received the ALPCAM USBFHD06H Camera Module for an honest Vine review. This module is a compact, specialized camera, but it also works easily as a general-purpose webcam. It is designed for technical integration into projects like Raspberry Pi systems and for use with laser engraver software like LightBurn. The camera's defining Feature is its 180-degree fisheye lens. This provides an ultra-wide field of view. The wide view is perfect for capturing the entire working area of a machine or a whole room. The Quality is crisp 1080P resolution, which is effective for monitoring. For Usability, the camera is exceptional. It is a true plug-and-play UVC device that works seamlessly with Windows and other operating systems. This means it functions instantly as a regular camera for simple uses like video calls, even though it is meant for projects. Its Performance is enhanced by its low illumination capability. The camera captures clear images even in dim light conditions. The small, modular size is ideal for fitting into custom spaces. However, because it is a bare module, its Durability relies on the user to provide proper mounting and protection. In conclusion, the ALPCAM USBFHD06H is a strong performer in its specialized category, but its easy functionality makes it versatile. Its combination of the 180-degree wide view, good low-light sensitivity, and instant, driver-free setup makes it a valuable tool for both serious builders and those needing a simple, unique wide-angle camera. It performs reliably. Read more

I've had great luck with ALPCAM cameras being very supported with lots of different systems. These work well in raspberry pi's especially, provided you have the USB ports available. I've used mine with a pi zero and a micro usb port. Everything went really well. This is nice for its low light operation as well as it's wide field of view. Not many usb cameras offer those features. If you know you need those, this is a great option for you. You will need to make your own enclosure for it, but you knew that already :) Recommended Read more

The first impression is “plug-and-play board cam with a huge field of view”; the lasting impression is “a versatile 1080p module that rewards tinkerers. * Board size measures 38×38 mm (mount-hole pattern also supports 32×32 mm), lens protrudes ~22 mm, and the included USB cable is ~1 m—long enough to route off a Raspberry Pi enclosure. * Claimed 0.01-lux Sony IMX323 sensor plus H.264 means clean 1920×1080 at 30 fps without spiking CPU; * True 180° fisheye: corner-to-corner coverage for engraver beds or room monitoring; . In use, it excelled for “set-and-forget” coverage. What other reviewers have mentioned: multiple folks call it “plug and play” on Windows and Linux, and one used it for hangar entry detection with clear IDs at the door. Another highlighted the “nice long…cord” and low-light clarity, and a parent/child Pi build praised the easy install and autofocus-like snap. The common thread is reliability and wide FOV for DIY projects. Where it could do better: there’s no mount, case, or privacy shutter—this is a bare module, so non-makers will fight placement. USB 2.0 caps you at 1080p/30. Price & alternatives: at $61.99, buy if you need wide FOV and integration into Pi/engraver projects. **Pass if you’re looking for** a clip-on meeting camera with minimal distortion or something with true night vision.
