The easiest microwave ever! I love the commercial brshed metal look with NO ridiclous digital clock. This microwave is exactly what I wanted for our home kitchen because of the clean appearance and powerful electronics. It's so nice to have no flashing numbers. The dial is easy to read and figure out'; a small red light glows for each fifteen nimutes of cooking time; there are large numerals for each full minute, too. The dial and lights would likely be a good choice for cooks who have vision challenges. It's just easy to use. When cooking finishes, the alarm sounds;it's easy to hear, but not annoying. Folks looking for a cheap microwave will miss out on this fine machine that is beautiful and cooks like a charm. Cooks who like fine, tasteful devices will appreciate this carefully-designed, beautifully-crafted, solidly-built So far everything is evenly heated without the annoying turntable. Cleaning the interior is a sinch--all surfaces are simple, readily wiped, and looking good. I LOVE THIS OVEN! The packaging protected it well through what appeared to be several several bangs, enought to break through the outer box, but inside, all was well. Delivery was as predicted. Read more

Only warms for 5 minutes so no more boiling over or burning things dry. Less stress for me. Easy to operate the dial for time and on off buttons. Good quality and value. Read more

We went through a series of home use microwaves in our work kitchen. The problem with those is a) they have way to many buttons and features for people who are just reheating food, and b) people at work don't treat equipment like they do at home - so they never clean the ovens, spillovers, etc. The Amana is super simple, just one dial to turn and that makes it simple enough that the most clueless person can turn it on. Second, it has no moving turntable to break (which all the ones in the office did). Third, it is very easy to clean - so when things boil over, and people just walk away from the mess - later cleanup is easy. It heats things up quickly - even if not quite as evenly as a turntable model would. Finally, it is ruggedly built - so multiple use per day is not a problem, and the stainless exterior cleans up easily. The perfect choice if you are in an environment where the microwave is getting a lot of use to warm things up, but people who are not careful or knowledgable about using microwaves. You will see these in many fast food joints - and there is a reason. They work fast, easily, and for a long time. Read more

The microwave is nice except the fan ran every time the door was opened. I expected the light to go on but not the fan. After an item was warmed up the fan and light stayed on although the microwave had completed it's warm cycle..The dial was not working properly either. I tried to call the number on the paper work to talk to the vender but the number was not in service "Verison Wireless" my server said there was no new number available. I cannot replace the microwave only reorder it since the Amana is from a vender not from Amazon..I purchased this with a discount price for opening up the Amazon Visa. The Amana is too expensive to reorder a second time, I returned the Amana to Amazon... Read more

commerical microwave stopped heating under a year. I contacted Amana by phone, email and chat. No response, no solutions as far as warranty. Very disappointed and frustrated. Cost to have someone repair costs more than the microwave itself. I need a replacement and will now work with Amazon for assistance being the manufacturer refuses to respond. Read more

I bought this for my Aunt who has macular degeneration and has a very hard time with complicated interfaces (She is pushing 100!). Microwaves with 'membrane' buttons requires her to see what she is pushing. This Amana microwave has a knob, and no options. No defrost, no 'nothing. Perfect for re-heating meals and frozen meals. The simplicity of operation, no buttons, just turn the knob and the microwave runs. The indicator has a light for each time step. The indicator does have "15" "30" "45" ... to indicate the time in seconds but the numbers are too small for my Aunt to read, however she can see how many are lit, which is good enough. The timer only goes to a few minutes so you can't accidentally set it for 20 minutes. Shuts off if you open the door, starts when you close the door. The simplest microwave you can buy! Read more

Great microwave, I got it for the simplicity of it alone. It seems to shoot microwaves from the bottom upwards, versus from the side (which is why most microwave ovens have a built in spinner). Heats more evenly and quickly. Mine stopped beeping when the cycle is done after a dozen or so uses (hence 4 star rating), so I have to keep and eye out on it if I'm doing other things in the kitchen. There's no buttons to turn it on or off, so I'm guessing the beep sound is just broken. Also, the fan comes on when you open the door, and stays on for about 1 minute after you close the door, or after a cooking cycle is done. I was thrown off by this when I plugged it in and opened the door the first time. I thought I was about to get irradiated and turn into the Hulk. :) Now that I know what it's doing, it makes sense. It helps remove humidity and heat. The top of the oven can get really hot since it's metal after heating a few things back to back, so don't store anything directly on top of it. Read more

Great product and simple to use. It is not like other microwaves you get at big box stores. It heat evenly and does not burn things. I use mine 3-4 times a day and so far (5 months) so good. Well, 2 years and three months and it died. Read more
