This matcha is absolutely amazing—there's absolutely zero bitterness to it. I was pleasantly surprised because my previous experiences with matcha years ago were quite astringent and bitter due to the limited options available at the time. However, when I decided to give matcha another try recently, I was amazed by the variety of options now available. I'm glad I chose this one. I wanted a matcha for sipping, and this one exceeds my expectations. I didn't realize matcha could taste this good. I discovered that the matcha I had previously consumed was actually "culinary grade", and I hadn't even heard of ceremonial grade before. It's like comparing canned vegetables to fresh garden vegetables—it's hard to believe they're from the same plant! I'm about to order another tin to keep at work because I have a feeling I'll want more than one cup of this per day. It's an excellent product, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Read more

Nice green matcha powder. The glass container on this is thick, matcha tastes nice, I use a metal frother and it froths up just fine. I'm not super knowledtable on matcha, so this tastes about the same as other matcha for me but tastes 'greener'. Read more

I took the safety seal off the glass jar and it smelled strongly of matcha :) I think it’s fresh as matcha powder smells less and less as it gets older. I took a teaspoon full and sprinkled it on my scoop of vanilla ice cream, then I mixed it well until the color was even and mmm! It tastes so good! There was lots of flavor :) It tastes better than restaurant green tea ice cream; it’s creamier when you make it with vanilla ice cream :) The glass jar is much easier to use than the ziplocks that a lot of matcha seems to come in. I like that there is a lot of it, too. It’s ground very fine so it was easy to mix in my ice cream and it didn’t clump like some other brands. Much love! Much recommend! Read more

I’m not an expert on Matcha tea, but I do drink it nearly every day. I buy it in larger quantities here on Amazon, and so I was in trades when I saw this smaller jar that is grade AAAA and organic. I wanted to taste the difference. In all honesty, I don’t really notice the difference difference. The one thing that has stood out to me is the difference in the mixing instructions. This one tells you to mix 1 teaspoon of Matcha with 3 ounces of water and suggest for a less strong option to use 5 ounces of water. My regular Matcha suggest that I never use more than 1 teaspoon of Matcha for 8 ounces of water. As one can see, this macho that I’m reviewing suggest using twice and almost 3 times the limit of my other one. I didn’t really follow the instructions and I mixed it at about the same concentration I do my other one. They seem to taste fine to me, but I don’t really notice a significant difference in flavor. It’s been almost 18 years since my last ceremony in Kyoto, Japan, and perhaps I don’t recall how concentrated the tea was served. I can say that this tea tastes great, I just can’t tell that it’s much better than my other one. Read more

This matcha has an authentic flavor with a grassy note. It fit my expectations on taste. I'm far from an expert, but I've tried a number of matcha's over the years and drink a latte at least several times a month. I generally use a rounded teaspoon to about 14-16 total ounces and find it about right. Read more

This is really high quality matcha. From the moment you break the seal to reveal the beautifully colored powder, the distinct scent of matcha hits your nose. Once prepared and whisked into a light froth, the taste is earthy grassiness off the top with a slight bitter bite that finishes with a smooth, subtly sweet final note. This matcha has a very clean, pure flavor. I have been drinking this straight up with hot water but plan on using it to make lattes and adding it into baked goods. Matcha can be hit or miss. I have had some good matcha and some undrinkable ones. This Amazing Botanicals brand is probably the best matcha I have tried in the US. Overall, I am very pleased with this and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious, high quality matcha powder. Read more

This matcha taste great! its not too bitter and not too grassy tasting. Its a gentle and easy to drink taste so I recommend it for those who are starting to get into matcha. It may not be strong enough for a latte. The color is a dull light green, Not at all bright or green looking. The matcha comes in a glass jar with a cheap plastic lid. I say its cheap because it came cracked already. But lucky it has a safety seal which didn't break so I know nothing has contaminated the tea. Usually matcha is in a foil bag or metal container so seeing it in a glass jar that's clear just seems wrong. The light will just oxidize the tea! So if they're going to go for the glass route they should have used dark glass to prevent light hitting the tea. Read more

The matcha powder comes in a small jar that is sealed inside. This is a first harvest organic ceremonial matcha powder. I bought a matcha set so I can have my matcha ceremony at home. The matcha tastes grassy with a touch of bitterness. There is a slight sweet aftertaste that lingers a while. I also make my own matcha latte using almond milk and honey. Occasionally I sprinkle a little matcha powder on my steamed eggs just to get the benefits. Definitely a good quality product. Read more
