This is a basic coffee pot that makes great coffee. No bells, no whistles. No auto shut off or programmable features. The reservoir holds all the water you need for 5 cups. It keeps the coffee at the right temperature. The color of the coffee pot is nice, goes with any decor. I find it a good value. The quality is good. Yes, I would recommend this product. Read more

Nice little coffee drip machine. It meets my needs and it doesn’t need a paper filter. Coffee comes out hot and fresh tasting with auto shut off in 2 hours so make coffee leave machine to do the rest . Read more

I live alone and usually have two larger size cups of coffee every morning. Typical standard 10 - 12 cup coffee pots have always been an issue for me as all warming pads are non-adjustable in temperature (why is that?). By the time I go back to refill my cup, the remaining coffee left in the pot is always burnt. Ironically if you buy a standalone warmer for a cup of coffee or tea, they are almost understandably adjustable in temperature. Coffee machine makers need to fix this imho. I could care less about clocks, timers, etc. Years ago, I switched to a 10-cup B&D glass thermal carafe coffee maker which worked great. No heating pad, no burnt 2nd cup of coffee. I couldn't wait too long for the 2nd cup, as with only two cups of coffee the heat from the small amount of coffee could not keep the remaining coffee hot for too long, but it worked. As with all things after years of faithful service, that pot eventually died. I then bought a brand new highly rated B&D 12 cup steel thermal carafe coffee maker as B&D no longer makes smaller thermal glass carafe models. A great machine, but a huge mistake. The 12-cup steel thermal carafe does not hold heat like the older 10-cup glass thermal carafe did, so the 2nd cup is almost always cool. B&D tries to put "lipstick on this pig" by strongly suggesting you preheat the steel carafe with hot water for a few minutes, then empty it, THEN make your 2-3 cups of coffee if you want it hot. Man, too much effort, too much waster of hot water. This little machine is sized perfectly for my needs. Its measure of a cup of coffee is much smaller than mine (smaller volume), and yes, the number of cups indicated on the waterline of the machine doesn't align with number of cups markings on the carafe (one cup less), I can live with that. This Amazon Basics five cup machine is good looking, small, simple, and very well made for what it is meant to be. While so much smaller, it can still use standard circular disposable coffee filers if you don't wish to use the reusable filter that comes with it. The burner pad is sized for the smaller amount of coffee so it DOES NOT BURN the second cup of coffee! It was $20 vs $65 for my now boxed up and stored 12-cup B&D steel thermal machine. My only "complaint" is I think the glass wall of the carafe of this Amazon Basics machine is VERY thin. You must treat it very gently or it is going to break. Well done, Amazon! This coffee marker is MUCH less expensive and far simpler than a Kerig coffee machine. While it's a little more work than a Kerig, not by much. - Read more

To start, it does make good coffee. It's easy to use. My big concern is the carafe. It's so incredibly thin that I swear that if you look at it wrong it will shatter! The price makes it hard to pass up. That is why I bil it. I'm looking for a replacement carafe, depending on the price I will buy one. If it's too expensive, I will buy a new machine, a different one. Like I said, it makes good coffee and is easy to use. If you do buy one, I suggest that you buy a replacement carafe at the same time. Read more

Has what I wanted most: Programmable, reusable filter basket, brew strength, i.e., select stronger brew, and small (width and depth smaller than many competitors). All with an affordable price. So I got one. Within 2 weeks, the warmer plate chipped and showed signs of wear --- see photo. So I went back to square one, researching for a coffee maker that would meet my criteria. Ended up wanting the SAME, so replaced. Return was smooth. The 2nd one is holding up better. Luck? Or maybe I am not keeping the burner on as much? Bottom line: It's sleek, functional, my coffee is waiting for me when I get up and it's inexpensive. The coffee brews at a hot temp, too! My story: Recently moved. Decided didn't want the bulky, counter hogging 3-way coffee maker, so left it behind. Reunited with an "attic" friend: old Mr. Coffee standard coffee maker. Realized it offered a lot of what I like: programmable, a warmer with adjustable temperate and auto shut off, reusable filter (cone shaped), and the pot was white. Shortly after starting to use again, the carafe broke. I invested (too much) to replace carafe, but had to settle for a black pot. Well, the coffee maker completely died a few months after buying the new carafe (for almost as much as new coffee maker). Bought a new popular brand coffee maker similar to this one. The cord was so short it did not reach my under cabinet power strip. Returned it and got this coffee maker. The Amazon coffee maker isn't white (but the black with silver accent looks fine and I bought a white extension cord to plug into under the cabinet power strip). It does not have adjustable temp on the warmer but I don't miss that. It does not have the cone shape reusable filter which I prefer. But really I don't miss that either. If you want sleek, slender, hot coffee, programmable, stronger brew option, warmer with auto shut off, reusable filter, decent carafe (doesn't drip much), for a low price, this is your machine.
