UNBOXING: Inside is the carry case, tripod, literature, phone holder adapter, and Bluetooth controller on a lanyard (pic1). The carry case is just large enough to hold the tripod when its in the fully collapsed configuration. The case is made of light duty nylon with an inside plastic lining to keep out moisture (pic2). The literature compromised of a safety manual and instruction booklet (pic3). These booklets seem intimidatingly long but that's only because there are multiple languages. Instructions are straightforward and easy to follow. The Bluetooth lanyard controller is a non-rechargeable watch battery. The instructions explain how to connect it with your phone so that you can take pictures of yourself using the controller and not having to be next to your phone. Now for the main event, the tripod. This is a well constructed tripod blending metal and plastic. The legs are metal and telescope out. Once you find the lent it you like you can lock them in position with the clamps (pic4). The leg extensions are stepless and slide out without resistance. You will have to eyeball the length of the three legs to make sure you got them all aligned because there are no numbering on the legs. The tips have rubber bottoms that swivel on the ball joint to keep it level (pic4). There are two features on this tripod that make it stand out from the competition. First there is a dedicated handle on the side. The non-removable handle is made of plastic but it still gives you a good grip. The other feature I like is the leveler bubble located right above the handle (pic5). This lets you know if your tripod is even or if off balanced. Except for the legs the rest of the tripod is made of plastic. It it provides a good balance between strength and weight making this a lightweight tripod and not too heavy to carry. The phone holder adapter can stretch from 2"-3.5" inches wide. It was just barely able to fit my Android phone. And that is without the case. I'm not sure if this can accommodate anywhere phones especially with the beefier cases. You'll definitely want to check on that first. FINAL THOUGHTS: Blending metal and plastic, this tripod is very lightweight yet still telescopes to 60 in long. It has the usual connectors for cameras as well as the phone adapter making this a versatile tripod. It also has a quick disconnect just like other tripods. The carry case is a nice bonus. The interior plastic lining helps to keep water out. Overall this is a very good deal considering how much you get for the price. I would recommend this as a great budget tripod. Read more

I really like the lightweight Amazon Basics 50" Tripod for Camera and Phone with Travel Bag, Remote Control and Phone Holder. This was extremely easy to set up and use for the first time. The first thing I took notice to was the bubble level included right in the product. It's a high quality level. Next, I tested each segment of the telescoping legs. Just unlock, adjust, and lock it again while paying attention to the level. The height of 50" is perfect for leisure photography, I really don't need it to be taller than that because nearly everything on this tripod is adjustable. What's even more useful is the inclusion of the phone mount that screws in to the tripod within moments. The mount holds the phone in place just like a GPS mount would and has a very strong grip. I don't know if it would work with a huge phone with a thick phone case, but for my standard size Galaxy S25 Ultra it was great. This is the main device I use for photography so I included an example with another phone. It can be used in landscape or portrait mode. The top plastic attachments of the camera stand are sturdy and well made so I don't have to be concerned with any movement or even a slight wind moving the tripod at all. I do a lot of night photography and I'm really thrilled with this tripod and can't wait to take it out when it gets a bit warmer. I've been needing one of these for so long and Amazon Basics delivered. Once I was done with the tripod, it easily broke down, unscrewed, etc and all fit into the travel bag easily with no issues, and it was very quick indeed. This is a pretty incredible tripod, I can't really think of anything that could have been particularly improved on it. There are so many adjustments, every adjustment knob/handle can be twisted to tighten and lock it down. The multiple bubble levels makes it easy to replicate and get positioned exactly like you want. The crank height adjustment at the top is awesome for smooth and minor height adjustments. Easily held up at full height a long heavy light at a tilted angle, no observed drooping or sagging after tightening down the adjustments. I'm sure it would have no trouble with a camera. The included tripod plate makes it quick and easy to switch between different attached equipment. I like that the legs can have their spread adjusted, and the locking mechanism is a nice twist lock that doesn't require tensioning. The hook on the bottom of this mechanism is also a very nice touch for hanging cables or other equipment. Packs up very small, easily fits in it's decent quality carrying bag, and the handle for carrying attached to the tripod as well is a very nice touch for portability. I didn't use much the little bluetooth remote, or the (very strong) spring tensioned phone mount, both are very nice inclusions at the price point, with the phone mount having a nice rubber soft touch grip that looks like it could easily hold even large heavy phones, and tripod threads on two sides. Not entirely sure why the bluetooth remote has dedicated android and iOS buttons, but nice that it should work with both, I wonder if android/iOS would let you remap the other button to something else like focus or flash.
