After some too big (from my point of view, anyway) changes in Oral B floss, I have been looking for a substitute. Unlike another floss I ordered here recently, this one easily fits between all my teeth. The only thing I would change if I could (but maybe that's not possible) is to make it a bit less slippery. To hold on to the ends of the floss so as to hold it tight while using, I find I often have to wind and rewind it around my two index fingers. Other than that, I am satisfied with this floss and intend to keep using it. The flavor is fine and the floss does pick up small particles of food, which is its main job, right? Read more

This floss from Amazon Basics is the ideal replacement for the discontinued Original Glide. Years ago, Oral B (owned by Gillette) bought out Glide floss from the original manufacturers, and for many years I could count on getting this same great floss which Oral B called “Original Glide”. It was the first floss made with Gore Tex (PTFE) and it was the smoothest floss to get between the teeth. Alas, this original product is now discontinued, and has been replaced by a cheap inferior filament floss called “Healthy Gums”…with the word “Glide” now in small letters. This Oral B replacement for the Original Floss not only does NOT glide between the teeth, it sticks and pulls and leads you to worry that it might actually pull out a tooth. Plus, it curls up like a Christmas tree decoration so it’s hard to even maneuver. Fortunately, Amazon Basics makes this wonderful PTFE floss. It’s the best floss you can get nowadays. Doesn’t curl up. Super comfortable sliding between the teeth. Highly recommended. My new staple for daily tooth care. Read more

Before I tried this floss, I was using Oral-B glide, which is much wider. And I feel like I have gotten a little spoiled by it because it is such a high-quality and easy floss. I used to have it on subscribe and save but for some reason it was discontinued so I shopped around for a replacement and I found this one. I figured I’d try it out, and I kind of regret getting it because now I have so many packs of floss that I have to go through and use up. It’s not necessarily a bad floss, but it’s very thin. I’m also not going to say that it is the worst floss I’ve ever had. Let’s face it, in my mid 50s, so I’ve gone through my fair share of dental floss. Some of the older wax-based floss is just uncomfortable. This one is not uncomfortable. It’s made out of plastic, like the Oral-B glide. Additionally, I am an environmentalist, and I hate adding extra plastic to the ecosystem. but I have not found a non-plastic floss that is more comfortable. The Oral-B flosses are a lot more expensive than this, though. So if you’re trying to save money, this one’s not a bad one. I’m giving a three stars which means it’s usable, decent, satisfactory. But I wouldn’t go as far as saying it is exceptionally good. I have removed it from my subscribe and save and I will not buy this again because I’d rather get the Oral-B, even though it is more expensive. Read more

This floss is THE PERFECT replacement for the "Oral‑B Glide Pro‑Health Deep Clean Waxed Dental Floss" that recently changed its formula. I was looking for something similar to the old Oral-B that easily slid between teeth, was strong and durable, and felt nice to the touch. I don't know why Oral-B changed their formula, but if you are looking for a replacement, this is it! This Amazon Basics floss has a pleasant flavor and aroma, it slides easily between teeth, it feels great to hold, and it does not fray, tear, or break easily. I am so glad I gave this a shot.
