I go nowhere without my kindle and this color-soft case has been a great cover for the device. The faux leather appearance perfectly matches the leather vests it tends to be pocketed within. The only detraction for this case is the surface is so soft that it scratches and mars very easily. This isn't much of a concern to me though as I think it will result in a nifty patina as it ages. It's a nice cover to protect the Kindle. Has anyone else noticed how all the latest Kindle editions are basically the same size? Any, the cover smells like leather and feels like leather, so it probably is leather. But $65.00 for it is entirely too much. After using the case for a while I noticed an annoying property of the leather. Since it's a rough texture, which is great for grip, the texture opens takes on an absorption quality, once the waterproof layer begins its natural breakdown. The material starts to absorb the oils from your skin. You start noticing it by dark areas on the leather where you normally hold it. Eventually this begins to feel like you're holding a greasy Kindle. I'm not that unclean. I wash my hands on a regular basis; with two dogs I have to. So, the absorption is slow, but it happens. I think I'm going to switch to the cheap cases. Read more

Purchased this case from Amazon Resale and it was definitely in “like new” condition. It’s beautiful and has a nice leather smell. As others have said the leather is very thin and scratches a bit but I’m good with that as it is characteristic of this type of leather. Lightweight and feels really soft to hold. I especially like the Ruby color as it has the Ruby color plastic frame instead of the black contrast frame that is on the brown leather cover. Overall, I highly recommend this case but read the reviews and keep your expectations in line with people’s observations. At $65, I think it would be reasonable to expect a more premium product with thicker leather but, at the resale price I paid for “Used-like new” condition, I think it is fabulous! Read more

This cover is well-made, encases the Kindle securely, and the magnetic closure keeps it securely closed. The leather is comfortable to hold and not at all slippery, as too many other, inexpensive covers unfortunately are. While the cost of this cover seems excessive, it is attractive, its materials and construction are high-quality, and it protects the Kindle very well. Read more
