The hanging rods just slide into the tunnels set up for them. These tunnels are in two different areas to allow for greater versatility in how the caddy is hung - the rods can go in the tunnels on the back or the ones on each end to hang it by the sides. Depending on your needs, it will fit in a lot of places and just gives a designated spot for storage. It’s just the right size to hold a bottle of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. But it’s not huge, so doesn’t take up too much space or seem like something that is in the way. On the contrary, it’s easy to find a spot where the caddy and things in it are out of the way. I’ve had it up on the shower for a few weeks now and I don’t see any signs of rust. It’s kept its shiny surface and adds a high quality look to the place it’s now occupying. I purchased extra nice bottles with stainless steel dispensers to match it and our guests have commented about how pampered they feel having such nice accessories at their disposal. The caddy itself is great quality and looks really nice. While the hanging hooks were a bit too small to fit over my shower door, I was still able to hang it securely over the tiled area instead. I am using this shower organizer on our enclosed shower (the kind with glass doors) and I'm happy with the ease of installation and how it hangs on the wall. I had been a little skeptical that it might slide around quite a bit since the hooks are a little wider than needed for the size of the wall, but that has not been the case - it basically stays in place unless we want to slide it over ourselves. The organizer was easy to put together with no tools needed since the little nuts that secure the hangers in place can be tightened with your fingers. There are two options for placing the hangers, on either the two sides or the back, so it's versatile for different shower types or configurations. It seems sturdy enough so far as well. The only thing I would recommend is that you do tighten the nuts well because with the way the organizer is designed, if those fall off then your entire organizer is going to fall.
