Bought this gem before my mother-in-law and I went on our vacation to Destin. It was well worth every penny!!! It was easy to carry, lightweight, easy to set up, easy to adjust, easy to disassemble, but most importantly stood up to the strong gulf breezes. Other beach umbrellas were flying across the beach but this one stayed put like a champ! Will always recommend! Read more

I wish I knew how much money I’ve spent on umbrellas, canopies and tents over the years. I think I may have found the golden egg! I’ve been on the east coast of FL for 3 weeks and this umbrella has outperformed any I’ve ever had including the Cool cabana I paid way too much for this year!! The only negative thing is that it turned inside out one day in 15mph wind gusts but I didn’t have it rigged with my self engineered cord rig. Since rigging it I’ve had no problems. Today it’s 12mph and no issues. The anchor screw base usually needs help if the sand is too hard. I have a narrow trowel I use to get the hole started. The starter hole needs to be more narrow than the screw base though. I have recommended this umbrella to all of my friends and family, especially those in areas that don’t allow the canopy type beach shelters. Read more

This is an excellent umbrella. I am originally from the beach and have seen all sorts of umbrellas. You USUALLY get what you pay for. This one endured pretty hefty wind and blistering sun. It was easy to anchor into the sand, very sturdy and easily adjustable as the earth rotates and the sun moves around. Kept me shaded and the day was very pleasant bc of this umbrella...well, and the drinks helped too. All kidding aside, this umbrella comes highly recommended by me! I would definitely get this again should we need another one! Read more

I have used this product for 2 years and it is very well made, easy to install and take down. Also it is excellent on windy days up to 15 to 18 mph. On higher wind days I use a tent peg with some string and attach to the post. Also, I use a 18" auger attached to my drill to pre-drill the hole to put the base in quickly and securely. WARNING, this product offers no UV protection although it claims a SPF value. Typical lying from where these are produced. At any rate you need to wear a hat or put lots of sunscreen on your face otherwise you will burn on sunny days. I forgot that this week on the beach and the first day I got too much exposure. It provides a false sense of security so that you and or children can get a bad sunburn. Be forewarned. Read more

The media could not be loaded. After one of our two old beach umbrellas finally rusted into oblivion, I researched online, read reviews (including here) and settled on this 7ft AmSun Beach Umbrella for its reasonable size, sand anchor and carrying sleeve. Size: I’m 5’4” and the packed umbrella comes up to my armpit (photo), it’s not awkwardly long when I put it over my shoulder. Parts: Top umbrella with tilt, bottom pole, sand auger and anchor. The anchor is beefy, even if it is PVC (photo). Assembling is easy (photo), and the bottom pole can be extended if needed (photo). I’ve read some complaints of a poorly fixed tear in the fabric prior to use. The only thing I saw were the stitches for the Velcro-tipped strap which keeps the umbrella folded when packing. The strap is sewn to the exterior, and you can see the stitches underneath (photo). At the beach, we still took our garden trowel to dig the initial hole – we dig deep to secure our umbrellas, and found the packed damp sand underneath the surface to be resistant to the auger. We opted to trowel rather than risk breaking something. Tightening the nut to secure the top part of the umbrella felt good and snug without forcing it. Video shows our set up with the umbrella titled towards a stiff and continuous beach wind. It didn’t even come close to being picked up or blown away. Gave enough shade for The Man, more than our old rusted one, more than the second old umbrella which we also set up. My only wish would be for the pole to be a heftier quality – the reason I didn’t give the sturdiness 5 stars. It seems it will hold up, but time will tell if the pole buckles in a stronger wind. So far we’re very pleased! When our second old umbrella needs replacing, I’ll probably get a second one. I’d recommend this umbrella. Read more

Great umbrella for the price. Held up well to wind. Easy to put up and take down. I also purchased a sandbag for extra stability. Used for a week on Myrtle Beach. Had a couple days of high winds, red flag warnings and it stood the test. The wind did turn it inside out one day, I was able to flip it back quite easily and nothing was torn or broken Easy to pack and carry, not too heavy I would recommend Read more

I was a bit miffed when I saw the sand screw to old this thing up. I said, "OK, I'll see how long it lasts...". Well, it went in great and has held on through at least 20 mph winds. The pivoting head is durable and appears will last for some time. For the price, I doubt you can beat this... Read more
