The glass is weighty and well made and just translucent enough to see the contents. Of course, the premade labels are also helpful! My handwriting is not that nice, so I appreciated that the "chalk" writing was already printed. The metal lids are a true "oil rubbed bronze" with a very nice patina finish. I was impressed by the heaviness of the metal. As you can see, the knob is riveted on from the inside -- not glued on -- so I'm sure they will stand up to much use over time.
