Very soft and functional mattress pad!!
This is a surprising comfortable mattress pad! First off, I bought this for the 'cooling' effects it touted as well as the comfort it promised. And was surprised at both! I just bought some new sheets, brushed microfiber, and while those are, by far, the softest sheets out there, they tend to run a tiny bit more warmish. And I'm already a very hot sleeper, for some reason. Imagine my relief, as the very first night, I crawled into bed and there was no more heat! Yay!! So, yeah, that was awesome! Second, I have a mattress topper on my bed and wanted a mattress pad to protect it. I have a latex one, so it doesn't generate extra heat like every memory foam one out there. This mattress pad covered everything very nicely and added that little bit of extra cushiony softness, making the whole bed come together perfectly! Now, the only thing I can say negatively is, this order was for an Analin pad but I received a Naluka one instead. After looking at both, they are the exact same thing, just different names. Most likely made in the same factory and by the same manufacturer. So, no need to get all riled up and send it back. I can only surmise that the seller had both brand names and sent out the Naluka. Maybe because the Analin's were out of stock or something? Definitely didn't bother me, there's a slight price increase for the Naluka's. Which meant I got the higher costing brand name at a bargain price! Another yay!! Now, I just need to rant a tiny but here, to explain my frustrations on reviews. This is a mattress PAD, not a mattress TOPPER. I don't understand why people keep getting those two mixed up? Maybe it's an age or generation thing? Or maybe people just don't read enough? I don't know, but the purpose of a PAD is to protect the mattress, keep it clean and add just a tiny layer of comfort under the sheets, against the mattress. A mattress TOPPER can change the feel of a matress, from a slight difference to a huge difference, all depending on what kind or how thick of a TOPPER you put on your mattress. So, if you're sleeping on a super firm matress...then look for a TOPPER to make that 'huge' difference you're craving. Or as so many people keep asking about, if you're sleeping on the floor? Then yeah, a mattress PAD will not make that feel any better. Not sure why so many people sleep on floors?? Anyway, I have both, a topper and now this comfy pad. And even the two put together is a minimal cost to me compared to the thousands a new mattress can cost. Made my fairly new budget friendly mattress super comfy, almost better than any expensive mattress I've bought over the years. Love my bed now! And if you go out and spend thousands of hard earned dollars on some fancy mattress that brags about its life changing abilities, then a new mattress PAD is almost an absolute requirement. Why on Earth would you not want to spend a few pennies to protect such a costly investment?? And adding one like this one, would offer that little extra comfyness to make it feel luxurious. Anyway, this was a great buy, especially for the cooling factor. Now, don't go thinking it's like sleeping an a slab of ice, that's just silly. This PAD just makes the sheets feel cool to the touch, pulls the heat away from your body and distributes it throughout the pad. Making things way more comfortable all around. This is not a waterproof pad, I have no need for that additional layer. I've been potty trained for years now, nor do I eat or drink in bed. There are lots of those kinds out there though, but if you do not need that extra protection? Then this is a good choice. Give it a quick, but gentle, wash and dry. Comes out like new! Easy to maintain and I'm expecting it to last year's, with the proper care of course. After owning several mattress pads over the years now, to protect our mattresses, this one is of good quality. I've had cheap ones that were destroyed within two months. This pad is not cheaply made at all, very nicely put together and seamed nicely. Came brand new to me, no stains or funky smells. Was vacuumed sealed, of course. Only way things can be shipped at reasonable prices nowadays, it has to be the smallest and lightest item as possible. Just let it fluff up for a few hours and its good to go. Or give it a GENTLE wash. It is new and clean already. No need to beat it against a rock for hours or run it thru your washer's most hardcore setting. Then let it air dry or a quick fluff in the dryer, on medium to low heat. Hot heat will melt just about anything if it's left in there too long. Or shrink it, people underestimate just how hot a dryer can get or the damage it does if items are subjected to high heat for too many minutes. This pad fit my mattress perfectly, including the topper, very snug and secure. Did not move around at night or bunch up. Highly satisfied and would recommend!! This review is just my honest, open minded, common sense review. I wasn't expecting miracles or magic, or have super high standards that I thought I should be entitled to. I just tried to cover all the basic points someone else might want to know about. Read more
