So warm and so soft. Extremely comfortable. Only complaint is that the sizes run small. Read more

Cozy, Cushioned, And Ready For Cold Floors

Sam BeckettDecember 22, 2025

These ANTSANG merino wool hiking socks surprised me in the best way with how warm and cushioned they feel right out of the package. The knit is thick and dense without feeling stiff, and the full cushioning underfoot makes hard floors and long walks noticeably more comfortable. The blend of wool and synthetic fibers feels soft on my skin instead of scratchy, and the socks hug my feet and calves in a way that feels secure but not restrictive. In the photo, you can see the four different color combinations laid out on the table: a brown pair, a lighter gray pair, a greenish-gray pair, and a dark navy-and-blue pair, all with contrasting panels at the heel, toe, and midfoot. Those darker panels are slightly more padded and feel reinforced in the spots that usually wear out first for me, like the heel and ball of the foot. The ribbed cuffs stay in place on my calves without sliding down, even when walking around the house or going up and down stairs more than I ment to in a day. I ended up keeping two pairs for myself and handing the other two off to my son, and he immediately grabbed the blue pair you can see on the right of the photo. He likes the extra thickness for wearing in boots, while I prefer the brown and green-toned pairs for everyday wear with sneakers and around the house. The fit feels true to the listed size range and the fabric has enough stretch that both of us got a snug, comfortable fit without any bunching at the toes. On chilly mornings, these socks make tile and wood floors much more bearable, and they also work well in hiking shoes where you want warmth and cushioning without feeling swampy. They seem like a good match for anyone who wants warmer, thicker socks for walking, light hiking, or just lounging but still wants a bit of color variety instead of four identical pairs. If you’re looking for wool-blend socks that actually feel cushioned and stay put, these have been a very easy product to reach for. Read more

I mean, there is SOME wool in them...

HeidiDecember 12, 2025

I get a little irritated by false marketing, so I feel I should point out that these are not 100% wool, only 70% wool. That said, they do seem very warm. I got these for my son, who is always and forever needing new socks. They are sturdy, soft, and seem like they should hold up a long time. They have great elasticity, and the colors are nice. My own pictures are a bit darker than the actual color of the socks, which aligns better with the Amazon photos. Read more

Great wool performance socks — blue & green are too dark

SMDecember 19, 2025

Review of ANTSANG Merino Wool Hiking Socks, Full Cushion Thick Thermal Crew Socks for Men and Women, 4 Pairs (Large, Dark Mixed) I’ve only had these socks for 8 days and already I’ve washed and worn them all twice. I love that they fit great (I’m men size 11) and are really warm, but they’re not bulky, so they don’t make my shoes feel tight. My only gripe is that on this color set the colors are too dark. On the blue and green socks specifically the color is mostly only visible on the part of the sock that’s covered by my shoes. So the blue socks look black above the ankle and the green socks look dark gray. They’re still great socks; I just wish the colors were a tiny bit more visible. I really didn’t want more black socks! Earns 5 stars because these are great wool performance socks despite being too dark. Read more

Solid merino socks without the sticker shock

Redux fancifulDecember 16, 2025

These socks are pretty impressive for the price, especially considering they’re made with merino wool (okay, not 100% wool—but still). You get four pairs for what I’ve paid in the past—out of pure desperation—for a single pair. That alone is a win. I wear a men’s US size 9.5, and these fit me well. That said, they do run a little on the smaller side, so if you’re closer to a men’s size 12, they might be a tight squeeze. They’re a wool/synthetic blend, which I think is what makes them more comfortable, breathable, and better fitting than pure wool socks. They’re nicely cushioned without being bulky, so there’s no bunching in your shoes. My feet stay warm without getting sweaty, which is always the goal. These are great for day hikes. If you’re doing super long or intense hikes, you might want something with more support—but for the price, these are hard to beat. Read more

Warm, comfortable, and they pass the two-day test

Mike W.December 17, 2025

I ordered these to wear as dress socks with boots and oxfords, as I have a fairly brisk walk to the office. These don't scream "hiking sock" and indeed pass for normal, charcoal-colored dress sock with a subtle kind of tiger stripe blend if you look closely. I've also hiked in them and found them comfortable without being sweaty, and they feel like real merino wool. They're on the thick side, for sure, especially compared to dress socks--so they're probably not summer socks. I'm happy to report that they also pass the two-day test: the socks I hiked in yesterday have no trace of a smell and are comfortably being worn for a second day. For testing purposes, of course! Overall, they're a great set of socks and certainly worth the money if you're looking for a "one pair to do it all" cold-season sock. Read more

Warm thick socks

Ally MDecember 15, 2025

These are really, really nice socks and great quality overall. They are thick, warm, and feel very well made. The fit is great, and tight, not baggy at all, and they stay in place nicely. I love that they are a bit taller and hit around mid-calf, which makes them perfect for wearing with boots. They are definitely on the thicker side, so that’s something to keep in mind depending on the shoes you plan to wear them with. That said, the thickness is what makes them so warm and cozy. The material feels substantial and comfortable, and even though they aren’t 100% wool, they still provide great warmth and insulation. Overall, these are cozy, well-constructed socks that feel durable and high quality. I’m really happy with them and would recommend them, especially for colder weather. Read more
