I researched cushions for a long time, and these were the best out there. My 2 cushions did not come in a vacuum bag. They were in a box with the cover already on them. Water beads up, thick, sturdy material. The only cushions that I found with a visible waterproof backing on the backside of the fabric. The 5" almost too firm cushion is actually encased in a white vinyl bag, like a thin mattress protector. It could never get wet unless there was a hole. My only issue is the dark blue is actually navy blue. It's very dark and shows everything, but it does brush off easily with your hand. I live in Florida and the lounges are on my covered patio, but the cushions are exposed to direct mid afternoon sun, but I think given the quality these should last a very long time. Read more
