Getting one of these floor protectors is one of those things I don’t really think about until I’ve seen the damage on my floor from my rolling chair. I work from home a lot and I have concrete floors that are painted. It’s not hard to damage that paint anyway, but I find that in particular, the wear and tear of the rolling chair, definitely hasn’t effect. Using a rug is totally acceptable, but I feel like this is a little bit better as it is a mat that does not have any fabric so it’s easy to wipe down as well. He is sticky part on the back is nice because it will help to keep the map to stay still especially since I’m gonna be moving around. The look of it also is good and it feels like it’s a pretty sturdy mat. In all honesty, I just don’t think a $50 price tag is most people myself included. This was a very fortuitous find as I had been complaining to my spouse for ages that the old rug I had under my desk chair was causing a lot of frustration (wouldn’t stay in place, was constantly getting ripples in it from my desk chair rolling around on it) so I was ecstatic to find this (& oh my gosh what an upgrade this is for being similar in function to but a huge athletically pleasing upgrade from the typical clear plastic ones!) This was also one of those times when you’re even more impressed with the product in person. For example - I had been a bit worried about not having pre-purchased something to hold this mat down, and lo and behold to my great surprise it already comes with it!! And not just that - it’s built into it!! The entire bottom of the mat is one big sticky/grippy where you just peel off the plastic form covering it and then stick it where you want it on the floor which is absolutely perfect (one of my pics shows this on the backing). Also note that while it sticks in place perfectly and won’t move, it is still also easy to unpeel it off the floor and move it (for ex - we initially put it down crooked so had to unpeel & re-stick it a couple times to get it in the exact right place we wanted it)) Not only that - it’s PERFECT for rolling your desk chair on. Desk chair glides perfectly smoothly over the mat as advertised, and mat stays perfectly in place due to aforementioned grippy stick bottom - perfect all around! Not only that - it looks great (was debating for quite a while on multiple of the colors since they’re all beautiful, this one seems a bit darker than some of the pics (although may just be my lighting) but still beautiful and definitely dark gray as advertised) and is a great size for being not too big and not too small with about the perfect radius of how much you’d normally roll your desk chair around. This is one of those upgrades you don’t think about until you try it. I had been using a rug to protect my hardwood floors, which worked fine for protection, but it would bunch up often as I moved my chair. This mat completely solves that problem. It feels thick and weighty and stays flat and in place, which makes a big difference day to day. It definitely protects my ceramic floor. The biggest improvement over typical plastic mats is the look. This blends into the room more like a rug instead of something that looks like it belongs in a cubicle. The non-slip backing does its job, and I am not constantly readjusting it. My chair rolls smoothly without catching, which is the whole point. It is also easy to clean with a quick wipe down. I’ve been using the Aothia chair mat in my home office for several weeks now, and I’m really impressed. I have hardwood floors that I didn’t want to scratch up with my rolling desk chair, and this mat has been exactly what I needed. First off, it looks much nicer than the typical clear plastic mats. This chair, has ease my frustration. What’s having to run my chair across the carpet! I love the way it looks. It’s got a very cute geometrical blue and white pattern on it. It’s very durable. It got sticky stuff on the back of it will stick to the rug or to the floor.. mine is half on the floor and half on a road rug, which works really well for me and helps a lot!! I don’t see any loose threads seems well put together. The seams are so well and straight. It’s very lightweight which I was surprised that it was so lightweight. I really liked that about it too. This is a nice floormat definitely worth the money and it’s definitely cuter than other ones I’ve used in the past like at work for instance! Read more
