Apace Living Recipe Box with 50 Recipe Cards and Dividers - Vintage Style Sapele Wood 4x6 Recipe Holder

I was looking for a recipe box and cards to go with a crock pot for a wedding gift. The box I had purchased previously on Amazon was no longer in stock. I was a little concerned about the price point of this item, but the reviews convinced me to take a chance. I was not disappointed. The wood is a beautiful dark walnut color without any rough edges. The "Recipes" printing is equally smooth and centered on the front of the box, and the hinges are the sturdiest I've seen on a box in a long time. I was impressed by the recipe cards, dividers, and measurement conversion card. All are heavy cardstock, and the front of the dividers, except for the tab, is glossy with a black and white print on each. Also inside the box is a leucite plastic holder; a recipe card may be slipped inside here and placed in the groove in the box lid. This allows one to easily consult the recipe while prepping and cooking, and it keeps the recipe card clean. The cards will also stand up in this slot without the use of the plastic cover, if you prefer. I now understand why the cost of this box and contents was more that the myriad others I looked at. I didn't even think about it when I got this for my girlfriend, but part of the reason she loves it so much is because it's also a place to store memories. Which helped make it a pretty solid anniversary gift on my part :D. She gives the cards out to older family members and friends who live far away so that she can hold onto her meals and memories of them even when those people pass out of her life. The cards are fantastic because they have a "From the kitchen of ____" line on them, so my gf can remember who wrote on the card and shared their favorite meals. The wood is very high quality and looks GREAT just sitting on the kitchen counter in her house. The ONLY... ONLY critique is that you can't buy more of the dividers somewhere. I would highly recommend this product and this company. I ordered one of their recipe boxes and it was beautiful but had a small dent. This is a gorgeous box! I’m a little concerned about the left hinge though, it wiggles-a lot, hence the 4/5 stars. The card slot on top is a plus. I hope it will last b/c this is truly heirloom quality and I plan on passing it down filled with mine and my late grandmother’s recipes. Read more

This looks like a box you would find in an art gallery shop - except for half the price. Excellent craftsmanship. I expect it to last for generations - not exaggerating. Gave this as gift & put in a few family recipes. Comes with tab dividers and a set of blank cards. I have not seen this kind of quality in years. Read more
