This filter does what it says. The filter in my air cleaner came to the end of its useful life and I got the light-up warning light. This happened over a number of years and I noticed right away that there was more air passing through the new filter than through the old one. I’ve worked with Aprilaire products doing HVAC work for many years.Always liked the quality. Moving to the desert I found the dust blowing around ends up in indoor air. I tested the air with a Dylos particle counter and confirmed a substantial drop in particulates after running the Aprilaire unit. This unit won’t negate the need for dusting but will greatly improve the air you breathe. I also installed a Merv 11 Aprilaire media filter so if I’m running the AC I have additional ways to improve our indoor air quality. The unit is fairly quite on the lower speeds but is more noticeable on the higher speeds. Keeping the pre filter clean is important and fairly easy. Overall a good investment to keep your indoor air as clean as possible. Read more

I always vac and blow these out several times before I actually change them. They cost to much to swap out everything the sensor goes of. Plus they work just fine after cleaning them. Read more

I like the filter it sure traps the dust. I should know I live in an old dusty house, I need to replace these in my filtration units periodically. My environmental conditions are very taxing and I would estimate I go through about 2x as many as the typical user. I run one filtration unit in each room of the house that our pets access. Read more

The Aprilaire Room Air Purifier 9550 is a wonderful air cleaner. We're very happy with it. It does a great job of reducing dust throughout the entire house. We changed the filter after about a year. The old filter still looked pretty clean. The replacement filter slid right in and was very easy to install. Read more
