This works fantastic on wounds that have basically healed & scabbed over because once they start scabbing, they start itching... bad! The first time I tried regular Cortisone 10 ointment. BAD idea, it stung SOOOO bad!! I tried to work thru it, but finally had to wash it off. I & my Dr are fans of regular Aquaphor (& because it has less, more natural ingredients & seems more mild) I tried this Aquaphor Itch Relief Ointment. Voilà!!! It worked!! I put a big dab on a bandaid & covered the scab. Stopped the itching & will continue to help the wound heal by keeping it hydrated (which reduces scarring). Please note: I ONLY used this on the wound AFTER it started healing & scabbed over (it was a cat bite wound that I had cleaned throughly & kept sterilizing & using neosporin & bandaids for days. Then it finally healed without infection & scabbed over. THAT is when most wounds started itching terribly. If I hadn't tried Aquaphor Itch Relief, I would have ended up unintentionlly scratching the scab off, which could've caused it to get infected. Then I would've had to start all over with wound care instead of healing care. Aquaphor saved the day!! Kinda expensive, but worth it. Read more
Honestly there’s cheaper versions out there with the same strength of medicine and I’ve tried literally every one to avoid the higher price tag of this one but this is the ONLY one that works for me so I will happily continue to buy. Works very fast and is also long lasting. Usually only have to use once a day for my hidradentis and it’ll last. so worth it. Read more
After an allergic rash from a new med, this and prednisone were the only things that stopped me scratching myself raw. Ok this is a keeper and a keep on hand for your medicine chest. Its summer and you think oh its a gorgeous day to be outside in the grass doing fun stuff or yard work.... and bam You got chiggers, nooooooo not thise itchy yucky chiggers that will drive you crazy all day and all night.
