I've had this for a few months in a 55gal tank. This is an amazing filter. I've ran a hanging filter, sponge and this. This is the most effective filter I've owned. Really high flow rate and can stur things up but it will catch those particles quickly. Read more
Yum clear yum yum I was desperate to get my tank balanced. After buying 3 filters nothing worked. I saw this filter and the picture showing a green tank like mine had been cleaned if the heavy algae. Thinking my tank was doomed and never having had an algae bloom before I was stifled. YUM YUM of the year award goes here!!!!! It did exactly what it is supposed to do and my tank is so clear now. Yummy healthy fish frog love it. It worked so well. It did take 6 days before it cleared and it was mentioned in the past review from someone else be patient give it time to work. I bought one of these in early August 25, worked great! Until it stopped working altogether. I then bought a second one in September 25, I installed it and 2 days later it stopped working. This product has potential to be an amazing thing but it stopped working. And for $40 a pop that’s not always a disposable cost. This should last a lot longer. Very disappointed! I had a review earlier on this product with just one star. I am revising that to 4 stars and here's why. After a rough beginning it's working great, a tad noisy but doing the job I was hoping for in the first place. Their customer service is slow and that's why 4 stars and 5. Also, it took longer for it to work but the bottom line is it did work. My tank (55gal) is the clearest it's been in a long time. Once the customer service did contact me they stayed with it answering my questions and even sending me a video. So, the question is do I recommend this product, the answer is yes. Received on February 25th. Our old filter started having problems and completely broke on us. The water had been looking a bit green for weeks now and we had to do more frequent water changes. Less than 1 week with this filter and our water is crystal clear. I like that it is a filter and air pump all in one, especially for the price. It's not too large, noise level from the air pump isn't bad either once you get used to it. The UV light doesn't work so I am returning it for a replacement unit. Hopefully the second one will actually work. UPDATE I received the second unit and it cleared up my aquarium within 5 days. Great product. Read more
The timer function for the UV light is a useful feature to save energy. It's a quiet and compact unit that provides good air circulation and some mechanical filtration.The actual flow is very modest. It would struggle in anything over 30-40 gallons, especially with waste-producing creatures like turtles. The green water clearing also takes much longer than a dedicated UV clarifier. Read more
