These Arencia retinal eye masks are not my favorite. Upon opening these I notice they were drowning in essence inside the container, because of this they were super slippery. It was difficult to get a pair out of the container and when I did they were literally dripping in the hydrogel essence. I applied them and they would not stay where I placed them and I had to keep readjusting as they would slide down. The curve of these is also too severe, making the tip of the patch rest too close to the inner corner of my eyes while leaving a portion of my under eye exposed. These do provide a nice cooling effect. They also don’t seem to have any scent which is good for those who are sensitive. So far I’ve noticed no irritation and these seem to be gentle on my sensitive skin. The essence did leave my skin hydrated and glowy. While I do plan to continue to use these, at nearly $30 I don’t think I would order them again as I’ve used similar products that provide the same effects that I like better and for $5-10 cheaper. I recently got another skincare product from Arencia that I ended up really liking, and since I’m always looking for a good under eye product or mask, I figured I’d give these retinal boosting jelly eye masks a try. I’m really glad I did because they’re actually much nicer than I expected. These are thin, clear hydrogel eye masks with a jelly texture. The serum on them has a thin, watery consistency, and there is a lot of product on each mask so much that you can rub the extra into other areas of your face instead of wasting it. The packaging is great too. You get 60 masks in a jar with a screw on lid and a pull tab seal disc to prevent leaking or drying out. It even comes with a little spoon, which you really do need because the masks are so slippery. They almost remind me of contacts, they’re that thin and delicate, so using the spoon makes it way easier (and more sanitary) to get one out without tearing it. When applying them, they feel cool, refreshing, and incredibly soothing under the eyes. My only complaint is that they slide down your face quite a bit at first, so I had to keep adjusting them. But once they dry down a little and the serum absorbs more, they stay in place and you barely feel them on your face. I actually fell asleep with them on the first night because I forgot they were even there. The results after taking them off were immediate, my under eye area looked smoother, softer, brighter, and my dark circles were noticeably less intense. And the ingredient list is seriously impressive. These masks are packed with beneficial actives like hydrating agents, barrier-repair ingredients, peptides, soothing ingredients, antioxidants, brighteners, and even retinal.
