I have wide feet with very high arches, which make my foot kind of tall too. Very annoying when I need farm boots! I finally bought these in an 8W, my ideal size when I can find it, and at first was a little concerned at the tight seam across the top of the foot (around the ankle), but during the first wear, could tell it would give a bit and stretch. I can wear these with super thick socks (great for morning chores at the farm) and they aren’t too tight. They are the perfect width and even have space around my calves (which are not thin!). They are super comfy, my feet feel protected and secured for any task, and I can wear them anywhere for any task. They’re easy to put on and they feel secure on my feet. I would HIGHLY recommend! Why did you pick this product vs others?: Nice boits. Nice quality. If you have wide feet like me, the boot will feel.snug around the top part of your foot it abut narrow there. I wanted the top of the toe design to be clearly noticed as it is part of the western design. That is the design you see when wearing them and looking down at your toes. On 1 boot you can feel stitching some what and only on one side of one toe but very hard to see. On the other boot top the stitching is nearly invisable and you can not feel the stitching at all and you can not see it clearly. Both boots tops look like they were "stamped" instead of tan colored stitching that should show thru the leather tops on the toes as seen in the photo. They arrived with Ariat tags on one pull up strap, Ariat on the soles, Ariat label with plastic tag on top and front of one boot that you need to cut off, Ariat on the foot liner and stamped Ariat on the inside of the boots, arrived in a Ariat box. They were very well packaged. I am VERY dissapointed that the top toe western design is so poor - non existant! IF these are REAL ARIAT and not a knock off then SHAME ON ARIAT. I checked and this exact boot is still sold on Ariat. Now about the fit; I wear a size 6 medium in normal shoes. In western boots I always buy a ROUND toe and a half size larger because I always wear thicker socks with my western boots. I ordered a 6.5 medium. These do NOT have a slick leather sole, thank goodness. The material of the sole is fantastic, non slip, quiet and cushioned feeling. THE HEELS ARE 1 & 1/4 iNCHES, perfect to be steady on your feet. The stitching around the sole is perfect - no loose theads. These are perfect every day work boots and to run errands in that will be easy to clean. They are perfect for nearly any occasion with skirts, dresses and of course blue jeans. The fit was perfection and no break in time is needed! I wore them straight out the box for 10 hours and did not want to take them off. They are not heavy on your feet. Best western fitting boots I have ever owned. I love the fit and style of Ariat Western boots and they offer ROUND TOES. So dispite the top toes missing the stitching design I have decided to keep them due to the perfect fit and comfort. I needed a pair of work boots for the pasture. I forget to pay attention and step right in cactus when I'm not wearing boots. I wanted something comfortable and with a lower top. These boots are great, the non-slip bottoms are helpful when it's muddy and they've held up well all summer. I expect them to last me for years, although they don't get daily use. Wow! So cute, and so comfortable! No break in period Even needed. I bought these for ranch work and horseback riding, but before I even got to use them for that, I used them on a cold, rainy day to chaperone a middle school field trip to Washington DC. I have 4 horses and that means a lot of work around the barn. Mud and dirt don't bother this boot and if you wear boot leg jeans hay won't fall in (suggested) . Good riding boot as well. I love Ariat boots, my last pair I wore out completely until the zipper stopped working . So I switched to these that are zipper-less but then ended up with hay in my boots solved by wearing boot leg jeans. I love the round toes , so comfortable and easy to put on and take off. Read more
