I have plantar fasciitis, a bunion on my left foot, and an old ankle injury, for reference. The first pair of Ariats I tried years ago, squished my foot. The toebox was terrible. This pair, available in WIDE (seems to not be as common for women), is great! Ordered a 7.5 wide. Fits perfect, heel isn't too high, easy on and off. It is real leather so took about a week to break in. I had a minor issue with one of the pull on loops chaffing my mid calf for a while (had to buy knee high boot socks and cover that spot with duct tape) but has since softened up and no longer an issue. these boots are gorgeous and fit to size. But had to return due to such bad scratches and scuffs on the top of the foot, Sent back and ordered another pair, the scratches and scuffs were even worse on this pair. I think whoever is boxing the boots is not being careful. The first pair of boots was not even in an Ariat box. The second pair I bought was not in an Ariat box either. So wierd. These boots are extremely scuffed up and they look absolutely terrible!! They don’t even look like the same boots and the sizing is weird. They are supposed to be wide and they are actually very narrow. Definitely returning these. Read more

I bought these boots several years ago and then passed them to my daughter who has wore them out and now they are too small. We took her shopping for new boots and after an hour and half and I lost count of how many tried on, she basically said she wanted her boots just in a bigger size... We weren't even sure if they still made them as it had been about 5 years ago or so. Well, we looked up the style number and looked on Amazon, sure enough, there they were. Finally what I was looking for for my wide thicker calfs. Listened to everyone and ordered a half size down from what I usually wear (wear an 8 in sneakers and boots so ordered a 7.5 but made sure to get it c/d to accommodate the size change so my footsies could be comfy). Absolutely perfect fit and have some nice room at the opening. Not a huuuuge amount, but a normal amount so they aren't hugging my leg too much. If you have thick calfs like I do, you should definitely give these boots a try. And as for comfort, I got these today and put them on and walked around a Scarborough fair with them for about 5-6 hours. My feet were tired at the end of the day as per any shoe but these were very good on my feet. Breaking them is has been a dream so far, I definitely recommend these boots.
