These boots are amazing, I do not by any means have small calf’s. Just before I put these on I expected to be packing them right back up for a refund . But that didn’t happen. These are the best boots I have ever owned and if I had the money I would be buying another pair no questions. These are perfect, the width is true. They do no squish toes like most round toe boots . I am in love with the insoles that come in these . Not to mention I still have spare room in the calf area . If you have wide feet or larger calf’s get these boots now! You will not be sorry. Let me start by saying I ordered a 8.5 wide/C which is what I normally wear, because I like to wear 2 prs of boot socks. If I can't get a wide option then I size up to a 9M. I must agree they fit true to size as advertised. I have room in the toe box to move my toes slightly, the width is snug as it should be with the 2 prs of socks giving it room to stretch/mold to my foot, my arch aligns/rests squarely on the ample arch support, and the footbed is nicely padded. Now, I noticed amongst the reviews people were concerned and returning their boots because of perceived damage/markings on them. I am glad I chose to order a pair to see for myself. Yes they arrived in an over-sized box stating the original box was damaged, so the boots no doubt were sliding around within, making marks on them which is the nature of DISTRESSED LEATHER/untreated.......if you're looking for a boot to arrive in pristeen condition order an oiled or tanned leather boot, often more expensive but visually more appealing out of the box(1st impressions), and usually stiffer requiring more break in time. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture as they looked upon arrival. The pictures on the right are the results of my rituals/gently bending and squeezing shaft, pressing footbed.....my pre break in whenever I get a new boot or shoe, consequently they look a whole lot worse then they looked upon arrival. The boot on the left is the result of a quick treatment similar to polishing and they now look and feel great. Sorry for such a lengthy review, but hopefully this will help someone. Read more

This is a beautiful boot. I have a bunion on my right foot. That’s why I tried the wide. I really wanted a pointy toe. My other pair are square and fit fine. My calves are a bigger. It fit pretty snug and would have been uncomfortable to walk in. I have weak ankles due to my auto immune disease. I can only wear small heels. This was a perfect height. I wear an 8.5. Read more

I ordered C width because the B runs narrow for me. This is my third pair of identical boots... they wear well and last a long time -- I ride/walk in them a lot and abuse them! I bought a pair of black to wear as working dress boots for a uniform. (for parades) Because I walk a lot in these, I change out the insole with one from "super feet" to make them more cushioned for walking. Read more

OK, I've been shopping for these boots for over six months.... They're replacing a pair of Justin's I've worn for close to 10 years. Yeah, I like my boots. The ONLY reason I'm replacing my Justin's is because the sole's can't be replaced, and they are so slick, I was leaving the grocery with a full cart and was going down an incline, there was a truck coming who had no intention of stopping, and when I tried to stop, the soles of my boots just laughed and slid all the way down the parking lot. I LITERALLY almost got run over by the idiot who wouldn't stop! At that point I decided I MIGHT need to retire the Justin's. (BEGRUDGINGLY!) Well, I finally found the Ariat's (Couldn't find Justin's like what I had... ). EXACTLY what I wanted - same color, same EVERYTHING.... watched them for OVER six months to be sure.... (I'm a broke college student - $150 was a TON to put into new boots, even if I WAS going to wear them for 10 years (yeah, I hear you laughing.... so did my Dad)). I FINALLY ordered them and sat on the front steps every day waiting on the "Big Brown Dog (UPS)" to arrive. I about tackled him when he DID arrive..... Well..... he was late... by two days!!!! Wound up having to call Amazon to find out where my boots were. DISSAPOINTMENT #1. But I was SOOOOO ANXIOUS, I was forgiving (besides, I had already slobbered on the UPS guy, I had to make up for it!)..... so I continued to wait..... I felt like Ralphie getting his Red Rider B-B gun in The Christmas Story!!!! and I about ripped the box out of Mr. UPS's hands.... I went downstairs and unwrapped my new boots like a kid at christmas! Then when I opened the box, my eyes literally teared up..... The insides of the boots were not finished - meaning where the two sides of the leather (front and back) are brought together and stitched from bottom to top (south to north) it was a raw seam. For those who do not wear boots on a regular basis - this may not seem like a big deal. Anyone who wears boots knows exactly what I'm talking about. EVEN my Justin's had a finished seam on the inside, and I've always heard that Ariat's are supposed to be such a "better" brand than Justin..... Anyway - Long way to get to the bottom of the story - Ariat's are fine - fit great - look great - love them with the exception of the unfinished seam. Unfinished seam will Wear your socks, pull your socks down all day long, and rub your ankles - maybe not badly - maybe a lot - depends on the person, but this was a BIG deal to me. I was going to send them back, but it took me so long to find these, my Dad saw how heartbroken I was, he told me, "just keep them - if they don't work out, we'll get you something else!" Leave it to Daddy to make me feel better! Hope this helps! Read more

I ordered the 8.5 size in the wide because they were returnable - turns out they were a perfect fit and they feel like I've worn them forever. the heel height is great and the arches fit well too. the leather isn't hard but not soft either. love the pattern of the stitching and this boot will serve me well for many years to come. Have worn these several days now. I have worn them while walking around for several hours and my feet didn't really get sore. So they are comfortable. When I opened the box from boots, they smeeled like real leather. 5hey are true to size and be snug even tho I normally wear size 8 w, I went up to 8.5 w just in case, Do plan to wear boot socks with these when it gets much colder out. So I really love these and are my first pair from Ariat. I had pair of western boots before but that was when I was a teen and was back in late 90s. Do not remember what name. Had always wanted another pair since. Did a lot of looking around and settled on Ariat and this version. Am quite happy Read more
