I cannot speak highly enough of this product. I do yoga on my carpet instead of a mat which I know, #1 mistake right there. Well it obviously got very stinky from me rolling around half-naked and sweaty all over it every day. It was strong enough that the smell would emit even outside of the room. I tried literally everything to get rid of the B.O. smell. Carpet shampoos, detergent, regular baking powder, scented carpet powder, essential oils, Febreze, perfume, pinesol, rubbing dryer sheets and deodorant on it, leaving the window open all day - literally EVERYTHING. Then I even paid to have it cleaned/steamed with no results whatsoever; actually I think it made it worse by getting it wet! So THEN I gave up and replaced it with an expensive "odor-shield" carpet. Well seeing as how I'm clearly a glutton for punishment and learned nothing at all, I got it right back stinky in about 5 months. So this time, I was extremely upset that I'd just paid for and replaced the carpet just for it to happen almost immediately again. At this point, I had decided to just rip the carpet out and lay down hardwood. Which is obviously not a cheap renovation. I was dreading paying that and having to do all the research for the wood, scheduling appointments, etc. SO I tried one very last thing. This stuff. Not expecting it would work when nothing else had. I covered the carpet with it, let it sit overnight and vacuumed up the next morning.... THE SMELL WAS COMPLETELY GONE!!!!!!!!!!! Not masked, GONE. I mean I shoved my nose into it and scooted around like dog to try to find one smell of stink left and not a thing. The smell it did leave behind (Oxi Clean) is just wonderful! Smells just like fresh laundry. To top that off, it made the carpet FEEL like fresh laundry... soft and plush. I wanted to wait to leave this review also until I knew the results would last. Well it has been a week and a half and the B.O. smell is still completely banished even with me continuing to exercise and sweat on it. It may need some additional sprinkle and maintenance in the future, but that is absolutely fine by me. So to sum up my TMI, rambling story: This product saved me thousands of dollars, it does EXACTLY what is says it will, it is the ONLY thing I found that worked and I could not be any happier. We have all of our dog stuff in one bedroom of the house, so naturally that room has a seemingly permanent dog smell. I bought this in hopes to deep clean the room and remove some of the smell and it did not disappoint. Easy to sprinkle into the carpet, let sit, and then vacuum as normal. PROS: SCENT - SOME scents REALLLY bother me. As in headaches. This one, while strong, doesn't. I like the fresh scent. LASTS - IF I'm having company over, I sprinkle and stomp this into the carpeting, smooshing it around with my shoes, then wait about an hour and vacuum. I do this a couple hours before company as the scent settles by then and it's just fresh, not overwhelming. HELPS keep carpeting looking good - Seems to help keep carpeting clean, I don't mean it gets rid of stains, but carpet LOOKS fresher when I use it. IT'S ARM AND HAMMER! I grew up with this brand and I use their UNSCENTED liquid laundry detergent and, of course, their baking soda. It's a brand I trust. TIP: If you don't have time to vacuum, but want to your carpet a little fresher, LIGHTLY sprinkle around and stomp into carpeting (VERY LIGHTLY SPRINKLE, you don't want your carpet to LOOK powdery). I've done this when I have someone over quickly and don't have time to vacuum. People just notice the freshness :-) CON: A TAD PRICEY.
