This professional rice cooker provides all I need and more! The 6 cup size is perfect for a family of 6. I love the fact that no steam leaks when in use which keeps all flavors inside this cooker. It makes great white rice! 2 cups of white rice takes about 40 minutes and the cooking time is controlled automatically. It automatically switches to keep warm once cooking is done and beeps to get my attention. I am also able to steam vegetables and meat at the same time which is a huge bonus when preparing dinner. Delay timer is also very very helpful - I used to use a timer outlet to do it with my old rice cooker. I had a simpler rice cooker from Aroma before this and the costing in the pot started to chip. Replacement pots were sold out so I bought this one. It is my first micom rice cooker and I am completely sold on this technology. My previous cooker lacked it and would overcook rice on the bottom of the pot to a gross tan color. This one always cooks it absolutely perfect! I’ve also used cake mode to make banana bread and pineapple upside down cake and it baked both perfectly! No checking the bread or cake required, no heating up the kitchen with the oven, it just cooked them till they were done and switched to warm when done. Amazing. It is simple to use. Step l: Remember to PRESS the ON button FIRST. Step 2: CHOOSE a cooking method ("White Rice" for myself). Step 3: PRESS "START" on the same given space as the "On" button. Make sure that the dashes of lights are chasing in a "rectangular" pattern. If it is just running dashes on a straight line, then you have not started the cooking process correctly. I owned an Aroma rice cooker for 10 years. I loved my old rice cooker but it is time to get a new one. I stumbled across this model on Amazon. I like its color and its sleek design. It is shorter than that of my old one so it fits under the kitchen cabinets nicely leaving enough room for the steam to escape. This Aroma rice cooker does not fail my expectation. It cooks perfect rice, restaurant quality. Even my non rice eater hubby enjoyed the rice and asked for more. This Aroma rice cooker is a smart multi-functional pot beyond the basic rice cooking function. It has so many features that I’ve never imagined a rice cooker can do, steaming, slow cooking, stewing and making porridge, soup, even cake. These have not been tested yet. I LOVE THIS.... easy to use and clean. Direction manual easy to under stand and follow. Have had it for a month now and have used the quick rice feature which works great. I have cooked brown, white, wild, black and jasmin rice in it all have turned out exactly as they were supposed to. I have also cooked steel cut oatmeal in it works great.
