This is my step up from a previous Aroma Rice Cooker. I was working with a Aroma four cup rice cooker that I bought in 2012. It lasted me until January 2022 when it no longer would heat up when plugged in. I’m for ten years I had no issues so I knew exactly what brand to look for when trying to find a replacement. I realized that there are A LOT more rice cookers on the market than I could have imagined. Technology has given these appliances a multitude of features…useless features. A rice cooker is exactly that a device that cooks rice. In spirit of finding something simple, basic, and user-friendly I stayed loyal to Aroma and went with their 20-cup rice cooker. First off, the price cannot be beat anywhere else - whether in store or online for this particular model. Amazon offered me the lowest price at the time. At first I was hesitant to go from a 4-cup to a 20-cup, but then I thought about handful of times (though maybe once or twice a year) some guests had to wait on rice to be cooked two or three additional times just enjoy my Chicken and Sausage Gumbo or my husband’s Crawfish Etouffee. Then I worried about the size and how space am I going to lose because of this bulky thing. Truth is, I store it in the exact same place as I did the 4-cup Aroma rice cooker as it does not take up much more space than the smaller one. That was a huge plus. The most rice I have cooked so far in the last five months of owning it is six cups and it cooked perfectly with plenty of room in there for more. I almost always use my rice cooker to cook jasmine rice, at least twice a week, and the Aroma rice cooker has given me fluffy, sticky (not to the pan) fully cooked rice every time. I am confident taking a chance on this larger rice cooker was well worth it. It has proven its worth to me in every use. Just add rice and water and plug it in and it does the rest. As for cleaning, I use a sponge and mild dish soap and wipe it down with ease. I am very happy with my Aroma 20-cup Rice Cooker. It may not have all the bells and whistles, but if you are looking for a reliable and affordable appliance to give you delicious cooked rice every time— this is what you are looking for, this is the one for you. This rice cooker is amazing! It cooks rice perfectly every single time—fluffy, not sticky, and ready in minutes without any effort. I also love that it comes with a steaming tray, which makes it super convenient to prepare veggies, fish, or chicken while the rice cooks underneath. The size is just right for small families or daily meals, and it’s very easy to clean. The design is simple, compact, and doesn’t take up too much counter space. For the price, the quality is excellent. Definitely a kitchen essential I wish I had bought sooner! Read more

Seems to work ok. I like the feature of the premarked lines in the pot where you fill the water up to and then put the rice in. Just be aware that you can't keep this rice cooker plugged in all the time..when you plug it in it automatically goes to the warm mode. I have no problem with that as I keep all my appliances unplugged when not in use. Read more

I give 1 Stars to this product because it is a PRODUCT WITH FIRE HAZARD & HEALTH RISK. So you, new buyers should be aware of the good and bad things about this product so you can avoid problems i have faced and enjoy cooking. GOOD MATERIALS This product is made of good strong steel or iron or metal for heavy duty. it is robust, sturdy and excellent in cooking. It does the cooking job well. It requires only 14 min to cook rice very well with good smell and taste. I am a fan of Aroma's products for years due to product body are well-built and strong. And it is reliable cooking apparatus for a family. FIRE DANGER Be aware. The manufacturer designed this cooker to start working as you plug into the wall power socket. There is no option that let you turn on power when you want to cook. It start cooking once you plug it into the wall A/C socket. What happened in my kitchen was - there was a fire caused by this cooker. After unpacking - I plug it into the wall power socket and it started to heat up. I was not aware of that. And there is the lid was not put in place. I left the house for a moment and went out to shopping. The cooker gets heated for hours and heat from hot bowl was transferred to cabinet next to and above the cooker. I sticked some papers and cardboard on the wall and cabinet to prevent splashes of popping cooking oils, and oil fumes sticking to the wall and cabinet. After hours of heat was transferred throughout the kitchen - the papers and cardboard got fire. Flames spread throughout the kitchen. Luckily - I have installed Smoke Detector in the kitchen - alarm went off. My neighbors call me there is smoke coming out of my kitchen. I went home from nearby and put out the fire quickly. It is stupid idea of manufacturer's engineers to design that way. I don't know why they made the cooker start working immediately once the plugin to the wall power source is made. Bad idea. It is a FIRE HAZARD you all need to be aware of this product. HEALTH RISK. After using many times - I saw carbon paint came off from the cooking metal bowl of this cooker. Each time I take scoop of rice from the bowl, tiny particles of carbon paint came off and it went into consuming. I do not how much paint have gone into my stomach. This is a HEALTH RISK you all need to know. I WORRY ABOUT HOW MUCH THIS COOKER HAS CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY STOMACH. I START TO FEEL SICK FROM STOMACH NOW. Please see the image - Carbon paint coming of the surface of the bowl and into my stomach. So, this is not a 100% perfect product. There are risk and hazard come with it. Read more

This is nice, reason for only 4 stars is because the instructions are hard to understand, had to YouTube it, and there’s not a lot out there to teach how to use. Read more
