ARRIS Fleece Heated Vest for Men with Battery Pack Included Size Adjustable 8 Heating Zones for Hunting

We purchased the women’s and men’s fleece vests primarily for indoor use during cold weather months. Thus far we have used them for cool mornings and evenings when we are not particularly active (reading, watching TV, etc.). As it gets colder we might be wearing them all day long. The two vests are slightly different: The men’s vest has a master button that simultaneously turns on all 8 heating areas to the high setting (and turns them off) but the women’s vest does not have a master button. Both vests allow you to turn on the heating areas using individual buttons. The battery charger is different for the two vests. Otherwise, the two vests function exactly the same. I usually wear the vest with a snug fit over a long-sleeved shirt and then layer a fleece jacket over the vest. The snug fit helps me feel the heat more directly and the jacket helps keeps the heat in. The vest heats up very quickly on the high setting. If I am sitting with my back against a chair, I find it necessary to turn down the back heating areas fairly quickly. You can conserve a lot of battery power by paying attention to what areas of the vest are sufficiently warm and turning down the heat in those areas. We are really happy with the vests – they are comfortable, heat quickly, and have 8 well-placed heating areas. I especially like the customization panels which are very easy to install. I am 5-3 and weigh 110. The ladies vest fits me fine without the panels but if I wanted to wear more layers under the vest, the expansion pieces zip on easily. I have ordered and returned several heated vests on Amazon. I am 6'5" and weight 260 and have worn xxl for the past 20 years. many of these vests that claim they are adjustable up to 3xl are fooling themselves as they are really up to an XL. I gave this vest a shot based on the testimonial video from the guy in Seattle who is 6'7" and 250. I am very pleased. The insert panels work like a charm and enable you to adjust the size of the vest to fit however you want. I have an extra panel left and I have adjusted mine to be a bit loose. The heating elements are great and you can adjust each of 3 areas independently, which is a great feature. While the best is a bit more money that others, it is worth it in opinion to be able to fit the vest as you want, to adjust each zone independently and to have pockets that you can put your hands in and be warm (the other vests I ordered did not). The only complaint I have is that the battery is not USB rechargeable and the plug is not USB, but rather a standard charger. Makes it hard to charge in the car or from a remote battery, but it is a small issue and not one that would cause me to take any stars off. Highly recommended. Read more

I'm a big fan of heated gear. I have other heated clothing, from jackets to sweatshirts, and this is my first vest. I really like the vest, because it's a lot more versatile. You can wear this vest under your hunting gear, motorcycle jacket or even regular everyday casual attire. The vest fits well, and there are buttons to adjust the vest to whatever size you may need. It looks like it would fit pretty much everybody style unless you were very small or very large. Everyone in between should fit without issue. The vest works by plugging in the battery, then you have to hold the power button until the lights stay on. That is only to power the vest. To turn on the heat, you have to press and hold the power button on the front of the vest until it turns red. The vest will stay red and automatically switch to white (medium) probably to save battery. You can press on in to cycle through from white, to blue back to red again, which is the highest setting. The vest on Red is pretty warm. Even white is decent. To really take advantage of the heat, I feel it's best to keep the vest on the inner most layer closest to your skin, then a hoody if you're wearing one, and finally a jacket. The vest will generate heat, which your outerwear will keep in. Some cons - -It's annoying that you have to turn on and off the battery, in addition to the vest. Other heated wear do not have this two step process. On others you need to plug it in and press the button on the vest and you're good to go. -The battery is proprietary, if you want to buy an extra, you must buy one from this company, and I think they go for $35 a pop. -The charger is proprietary also, and I can't seem to find where you can buy an extra charger. Even if you buy an extra battery, it doesn't seem to come with a charger. For this reason, if you're out and about, you need to bring your charger with you to charge in the field. Not very convenient. Overall, for the money, it's a decent buy. I'm a little concerned about the lack of options for batteries and chargers, but for now, everything works flawlessly. Read more

I purchased this for my husband who spends considerable time outside in winter. I was impressed at the packaging to start, the photos don’t do justice but nice presentation Arris. Great instructions and the battery charging was wasy. It came with about 60% charge and it took about an hour to get to 100%. Love the panels that are sent with the vest because it allows a “custom” fit. My husband loves it! Each zone has 5 levels of heating from high to low and he tried all the levels then said he’ll probably never use high because he got really warm really fast! He says the weight wasn’t bad considering battery and all and a nice surprise was the usb hook-up in the right pocket allowing you to charge your cell phone if needed. He states it is very comfortable and a great product for the price. Read more
