This Artifa Mineral sunscreen is a great on the go sunscreen. The small size conveniently fits great in your purse or glove box, for those impromptu park visits or ballgames, or when you just plain forget to put on sunscreen before you leave the house. The consistency is great and rubs in easily without being greasy. The 50 SPF is perfect and it stands up well to sweat and swimming. It is unscented and there is relatively no smell to it. This is a mineral sunscreen with an spf of 50. My husband is a huge fan or spray sunscreen. If you are anything like me you don’t want to spray your face. This little bottle comes in perfect to supplement the spray. It’s small enough to fit in my purse. It goes on smooth and doesn’t leave my face oily or greasy. I would expect an spf of 50 to be think and this one is not. It smells like I would expect minerals to smell. I appreciate that they didn’t add any fragrances but I do kinda miss that coconut smell that instantly takes me back to the beach. It’s a good price, very comparable to others on the market. We attempted to use this sunscreen as an alternative to the big store brands out there to see the difference and there are quite a few noticeable ones. Firstly that it does not leave residue and I would compare that to the spray types. Then there’s the consistency which this is a little wetter and lighter compared to the thicker creamier types. As far as using it on a hot day, I did experience it melting off my face and becoming pretty bothersome especially when it started running into my eyes. I never have that issue with spray types. Overall I did not feel as protected by the end of the day as my skin started to feel as though it was burnt compared with using other types in th same weather for the same time where I usually feel good at the end of the day. Yes!! An actual mineral sunscreen that doesn't leave any white streaks, whatsoever. What a win! The size of this is perfect to toss in my bag for travel or for going hiking. I've used it several times, without burning (bonus points for not having to ask my husband to tell me where the white streaks are, haha). I will note, this says it's unscented but I think it smells like a pleasant melon smell (my friend even commented on how nice it smells when she used some). If you have problems with scent, be advised this does have a smell while applying it. It goes away quickly. However, since I will be on vacation and exposed to the sun for an extended period, I decided to explore the latest sunscreens available on the market. That’s when I discovered the ARTIFA brand of mineral sunscreen. Before ordering, I noted that this sunscreen is fragrance-free and unscented. It’s also non-toxic, paraben-free, hypoallergenic, and dye-free. For pet lovers, it’s reassuring to know that it is pet-friendly and PETA-approved. This mineral sunscreen protects the skin from the sun by using naturally occurring particles of titanium dioxide, which reflect UV rays away from the skin. I find this type of sunscreen works better for my sensitive skin compared to chemical sunscreens, which absorb UV rays for protection. Although it claims to be unscented, there is a subtle and pleasant scent, likely coming from the ingredients in the formulation. I appreciate that it is non-greasy and does not leave a chalk-like residue on my face. The sunscreen has a creamy white consistency that gets absorbed by the skin and becomes colorless. While it takes a bit longer to absorb than serum, I prefer this formula. Overall, because it is hypoallergenic, turns colorless upon application, is non-greasy, and offered at an affordable price, I plan to use this sunscreen during my trip and will purchase more as backups, as well as for family members. The media could not be loaded. My only sunscreen before this was ancient. I ordered this to update. I tried it in the sun. I drew a heart in the sunscreen on my back and went outside in broad sunlight for 40 minutes or so. I came back in with obvious signs of pinking/tanning from the sun, but no evidence of any protective heart on my back. I tried again doing an experiment that... honestly isn't great. I'm trusting that SPF 50 actually does protect some against UVA in addition to UVB. In any case, my experiment failed to show any UVA protection. Wow. This sunscreen is the bomb. Seriously! It has all of the qualities that I look for but can never find all together in one product. It has a very light and pleasant scent—not sunscreen-y at all. It has a wonderful texture that is a pleasure to apply. It dries without any stickiness to a satin finish (not glossy and not to matte either). The sunscreen does not run into or burn my eyes. It plays very well under makeup and has an high SPF of 50. It does not leave even a trace of a white cast. You can see in the photo I posted that it is a little translucent. And the price??
